I have just had a flyer through my door about them. Wondered approx how much they charged. Considering getting a cleaner, wanted to get someone locally but can't find anyone so another option is to go for a company. I've never done it this way before!

I have - 2 different times in different areas of the country while the dses were small babies.

They were pretty expensive but quick - 2 come in at the same time (managed to clean my small 3 bed house in about 45 mins between them) which means that if you're at home when they come round then it's not quite as intrusive as having someone round for hours.

I didn't feel they were that thorough though, not much in the way of moving furniture or deeper cleaning which I think a private cleaner would do (at least occasionally on a small area of the house each week). But I've never had any other cleaners so don't really have a good comparison.

To give you an idea - West Midlands, 3 years ago, small 3 bed modern detached house (approx 45mins 2 people) - £35.

Got them round for a quote about 18 months ago. They gave what I considered an eye watering figure of £295 per fortnightly clean!!

I never took them up on it.

BellaKissedSanta · 02/12/2008 18:24

I had them for a while - 4 used to come at once and tbh I think they spent more time checking who was doing what than actual cleaning.

We sacked them when they quite clearly did not wash the kitchen floor (ds's yogurt still all over it) but claimed they had

snoring do you live in a castle?

You'd think so wouldn't you at that price. House is fairly large, old place with an attic bedroom but I was stunned at the price.

We're not that dirty either. Honestly!

They did sell it that the house would be practically spring cleaned every fortnight but even so......

Awful, awful, awful. Total waste of money. I tried out several and they were by far the worst.

muppetgirl · 02/12/2008 19:42

I found them to be very inflexible, they did what they did and that wasn't what I wanted them to sometimes. They weren't thorough enough, didn't move small bits of furniture at all and just cleaned round them. I would say they 'surface' clean really well but not properly. They charged us £50 per fortnight as they wouldn't do a weekly clean as they said they clean so throughly it wouldn't need it. I cancelled them by phone and the franchisee claimed she never got the message and still charged me for the clean.

I then had Bella Casa and they were £26 per week. The first lady we had was amazing, she did everything. Moved furniture, cleaned shelves, windows and her cleaning did last us nearly all week. Unfortunatley she left and we had a few others but they were never as good as the first her.

I used them despite their extortionate rates, but sacked them when they turned out to be not only crap, but con artists with it.

stuffitllama · 02/12/2008 19:57

Not a good experience. Normal price I thought but not good job.

Wallaroo · 02/12/2008 22:20

Thank you I will not try them. Glad I checked now
