Can't you just cut one down to size?

SoupDragon · 23/11/2008 13:24

Ikea's Index poles come in a 70cm length.

Is the window 60cm, or is that the length of pole you need? If you buy a wooden pole you can cut it to the size you want, as I said.

IMHO, don't buy an extendable one. We have them and every time I shut the curtains, they catch on the part where one of the poles fits into the other. It's very annoying!

i have actually bought the index one from ikea but the colours black or dark silver just dont go with the room at all.

i think i need the pole to be about 100cm. didnt know i could cut the wooden ones to size. argos etc do some nice white/cream wooden ones - is there anything i need to look for in packaging for me to be able to cut it or can you just cut any of them

thanks

you can just cut them if theyre wooden and then take the end part of the cut off bit and put it on the bit you are keepong. ive had to do that as i have the same in my living room.

keeping - babybrain!!!

If you get a woodem pole with finials you don't have to worry about raw edges.
John Lewis do posh ones but places like Dunelm/Homebase also have them.

Hi, Not strange at all to be thinking about curtain poles. I have been looking for some new ones recently and i ended up buying some that i cut down with a hacksaw. I bought mine from Direct Fabrics . was very happy with them. But had to ask my DH to cut them down Grin.
