help needed......regarding gas cookers

Hi, urgent help needed.We have a gas cooker which was working fine till the last 30 mins and suddenly the ignition has continously started sparking and i cant get to switch it off. any advice much appreciated.

ours has been known to do that . It was when it got damp (pan had overflowed) and short circuited. We switched off the power at the mains and it was fine after drying out.

Mine does that occasionally. I turn it off at the mains when I'm not using it.

thanks all, has started working on its own...probably dried out
