Storage sollutions???

So I have tidied my house but we have far too much stuff so I need to get rid of some and have places to keep the rest. I have come to the conclusion that if an item has a set place to live then things seems to stay tidier. I have sorted the paper issue and am in the process of ordering a new desk with and intergrated filing cabinet but one of the worst issues with clutter is in the dc's room. (they share) There seem to be nappies, odd socks, shoes and other small items all over the place with no definate home. I was thinking of having a box to store each of the dc's nappies to go in but I have ni idea how to tackle the rest of the crap.

Does anyong have any good ideas?

Ds has toy storage from Argos. It has 6 shallow boxes and fits quite a lot in. Downstairs for the childminding toys I have units from Ikea. They have different depth boxes available that slide in. We have some big deep ones for shoes and outside stuff, then some medium sized ones for biggish toys then some shallow ones for baby books or pens/crayons. They're great because you can pick the size of box to suit your needs (and they're quite cheap!!)

Agree with mogs0, ikea Trofast storage is fab I have it in the conservatory playroom. The tubs come in 3 sizes so huge ones for the dinosaur collection, the shallow ones for paper and pens.

We also have Pax wardrobes from Ikea which means that I can have hanging rails but the majority of our stuff is in the plastic drawers you can get to go inside, plus you can over-fill them slightly unlike a chest of drawers.

We also have the komplement boxes. You can fit 3 across a double 100cm wardrobe and they are the full depth. We put our bedding in them, bath sheets etc. (I also have one for my handbags )

Although not so cheap when all added up we saw it as an investment.

Some of our pax wardrobes we have had for 10 years and we have dismantled them a few times to move house.
