Hi im sure everyone will agree that the price of gas and electric now is just criminal!!!!

over the past 12 months i have had 3 price increases and im sick of it.So i decided to take matters into my own hands and do something about it . i heard that there were a few differnt comparison websites that i could check out ,

my direct debit was95 p/m for gas and 70 electricity p/m .i was killing my finances spending that much so i went to 3 differnt comparison websites and the funny thing was that not all of them were the same ( suspicoius or what?) well anyway i wanted to tell you that i saved 215 per year by switching both gas and electric yippeeeee!!!!

im so pleased that i was able to sort it out and wanted to let you all no DONT STAND FOR PAYING TOO MUCH ANYMORE!!!!!!

thought this would be some use to some people.. happy savings

Just wanted to add a note of caution - we have done this twice (always using the comparison websites) and both times we were quoted nice low (by comparison)monthly direct debits, but within six months the payments were mysteriously found to be too low, and they hiked them. I don't think it is a bad thing to change - on the contrary, I think complacency is much worse - but I would say you need to watch the payments you make and the acutal costs on your bills, as they often don't match up. The only real comparison worth making is the actual cost of the gas/electricity. If its not lower with the new supplier than with the old one, be careful!

they are too high - what janinlondon says is true, it's happened to me twice, now I'm paying 3 different companies for "old" bills as they allowed the amount I owe to drift upwards for so long.

Since Jan, I've been paying too much to my new company so am getting a refund!!!!!!

Yippee, will help towards Christmas.

i will watching my bills verycarefully now..

when i looked into it i compared the unit rates so hopefully it should be ok .. but i will still be watching my bill like a hawk just incase ... thanks for the advise...

hearing things like that make me soo angry, i live in northern ireland where there is only one electricity provider, so we are at their mercy with the cost of electric. i live in a 3 bed terrace with my 3 yo son and our electric was £80 for 4 weeks, its killing me, and i cant look for a cheaper company. fair play to rest of you though for doing something about your bills.
