Heating or tumble dryer

So which is a more efficient way of drying clothes today? It is peeing down and freezing so line drying isn't option and we have a build up of wet washing. I think using the radiators means the house gets a bit of warmth too (we are in this morning) and it's inclined to dampness so any heat is good. DH thinks the tumble is better, though we are really trying not to use it these days because of energy costs.

God this a dull Monday sort of question

depends

if you'd have the heating on anyway and just turn it up a bit for the washing, then that'd prob be cheaper

but if you have the heating off atm and have a sensor dryer so it will stop the minute the clotehs are dry, the dryer may be cheaper

and rmemeber if you have gas ch using the heating will increase the gas bill and the dryer will increase the electricity bill

Could you dry as much as possible heavy things like towels and then if not completly dry use your tumble dryer?

i think radiators - then you are warming the house too
