Fruits flies are DOING MY HEAD IN!!!!!

Get an empty jar and put a couple of bits of banana in it. Cover the top of the jar with clingfilm and put some little holes in - big enough for the fruit flies to be able to get in but small enough that they can't get back out!

You will find fruit flies in the jar and then you can get rid.

I often put a clean tea towel over the fruit bowl to keep them away.

Yes, I have loads too, but no houseplants. Could they live on herbs on kitchen windowsill, or from kitchen caddy for fruit and veg peelings(securely closed)?

Don't really want to spray vile chemical flyspray around, is there an eco but effective alternative?

Ours is very effective against fruit flies - which could be from fruit (especially bananas) or from houseplants.

Unfortunately the bloody huge black house flies seem to completely ignore the zapper

i wonder if there anything cheaper as skint atm
