Help - cat wee on mattress

Poor cat was locked in dd's room all day, has gone several times on the bed.
I have scrubbed it and sprinkled it with Bi-Carb, is there anything else I can do? I can still smell it.

I think you're meant to put clean kitty litter on it, to absorb both the wee and the smell?
I believe this works for human wee too!

Dissolve biological washing powder in boiling water and swab it on - the enzymes will eat the smelly bit in the cat wee and make it better. But the mattress will be wet for a while.

It might be beyond hope, our cat weed on a bit of carpet in our old house and we had to cut a chunk out of it! The things we tried were

put bicarb on (lots), leave to dry, hoover up

put iodized salt on, leave to dry, hoover up

specialised pet stain spray (wet, spray, mop up)

cat litter (normal and silica) left to absorb, hoover up

white vinegar (supposed to destroy the enzymes)

nothing worked for us, maybe you will have more luck. The trouble with a mattress I guess is that it will soak in quite a long way. Good Luck!

Simple solution - can get it in pets at home etc - really need to soak the matress and then let it dry for a good few days! we tried everything and they still went back to it and wee'd again but after the simple we didn't have a problem!

THank you all! I have just bought a bottle of simple solution, and will see how it goes...so far the mattress is still drying after the biological powder!!
