Does anyone fancy helping me to find some curtains?

We've had cheapy thin curtains up in our living room for the last two years and can't bear the thought of another winter with draughts coming in and having to sit under a duvet watching telly in the evenings!

So we want to invest in some good thick lined curtains which will hopefully insulate the window better and keep the heat in. My mum found these which I love www.texcraft.co.uk/latest/9/new_readymades_summer_2008. I'd like a similar colour to those - brown and duck egg blue but our window is just over a metre high and a metre across so they don't do them big enough.

personally I always go for curtains the colour of the walls, more restful, subtle, whatever... you might not agree. Remember they can be thick, textured, velvety, shiny, whatever but they need to blend with the walls. IMHO.

If you need something to go with the decor of the rest of the room I would choose new cushions for the sofas, tie-backs for the curtains...anything...but I would always go for a neutral colour for the curtains.

Hi - I've just bought a duck egg blue sofa. Before buying it I did a lot of searching for other fabrics to go with it for curtains and other upholstery. Am a bit of a duck egg blue obsessive at the moment (it took me 6 months to find the perfect duck egg blue bathroom tiles!)

Anyway.... John Lewis has a really broad selection of fabrics in shades of duck egg, and some with browns too. Look at their own brand stuff as it's cheaper.
