Has anyone got a HEALS sofa?

Flightattendant4 · 03/11/2008 11:50

I;ve seen a second hand one and am very tempted.

It's velvet beigey colour and about 210cm long, 3 seater.

Called 'Venice' I don't see it on their website now, but apparently it was around £3,000 new and she only wants a few hundred. Is it worth it? Are they specially good quality or is it just a designer name you're paying for?

Any thoughts appreciated, thanks

Bump!

Somebody must have a Heals sofa they can tell me about!

we have a Heals sofa, it was a prototype that they never ended up producing but I have to say the quality is excellent. We have had it for 4 years and it does not sag anywhere at all, the foam is very good quality.

Flightattendant4 · 03/11/2008 20:07

Oh, thankyou very much for that. It sounds encouraging!

FA- I am following you and your sofa needs

I want that heals sofa ...stamps feet

is it on ebay??

Flightattendant4 · 03/11/2008 20:22

No, it's a private sale - sorry!

Did you see my other one, that was on ebay. I linked on the other thread.

Other one is being delivered Wednesday...will let you know if any good!

I am going to be up to my neck in sofas at this rate. Why is it never as simple as just buying one thing?

I have an ex-display Heals leather sofa. Have had it for 5 years now and no complaints.

brimfull · 03/11/2008 20:30

bollocks

Flightattendant4 · 03/11/2008 20:33

Yeah yeah

You're too clever!

I've got a Heal's sofa and it's great, even after years. If you can get it for a bargain, brilliant! We paid bloody loads for ours (though don't regret it).

Flightattendant4 · 03/11/2008 22:40

Ggirl - you can have first dibs if I get it and change mind, will give you a shout

We have a Heal's sofa. Not the one you describe. Is about 10 years old. Was very expensive, but fab quality. Zips are knackered on the back cushions (so need plumping into position each day) but otherwise it still looks really good. Would recommend them. My only reservation would be the colour of the one you describe and whether it would stand up to the kids.

Flightattendant4 · 04/11/2008 07:03

Thanks Helly.

Yes, I worry about that too - it already needs a steam clean apparently, which isn't going to be cheap, not sure how much it is to do that. I will cover with blankets though like my other one, it kind of prevents the major everyday damage and then I can whip them off when I want it to look posh.

I'm glad it's an investment, I hate spending that sort of money!!

Well if anyone wants mine it is up for grabs cos we are emigrating!
It is a wide 2 seater with textured brown (really lovely) fabric, and square chrome base and legs. Very contemporary, newly dry cleaned!
It is already in storage will see if I can find a photo somewhere if anyone interested!
(long shot I know but I hate ebaying)

Fllightthebluetouchpaper · 04/11/2008 18:24

Wow! If only I had known earlier, I have just bought that other second hand one for, ahem, quite a lot of money

Bumping for Ggirl as she might be interetsed. I would love to see a picture of it anyway, so I can have sofa envy!

The first ebay one arrived today. It is absolutely divine, much MUCH nicer than in the pictures, and I am not sure what to do as we already had one old one, and now I am going to have three.

One of them may have to go...the Heals one's coming on Saturday. Will see how they compare...

brimfull · 04/11/2008 19:50

qwertqueen-love the name!

wold love to see a photo!
FA,3 sofas,getting a bit greedy are we!!??

Fllightthebluetouchpaper · 04/11/2008 21:06

I know, I don't actually want three, I just don't know how to make decisions. I am going to sell one. we do need two, it's a huge room and ds2 often sleeps on one, so nowhere to sit!

Ggirl - sorry about the W.don one. I was already negotiating with her before I posted, which is why I said it was private iyswim. I wasn't sure whether to go for it or not tbh and then she said she had 44 watchers, so I decided prob was a good idea...!

I hope you do find a nice one. If I don't like the H one when it turns up I'll shout Ok?

brimfull · 04/11/2008 21:20

Oh don't worry I was joking about the wimbledon one.

I have 55 watchers on my sofa atm ...so here's hoping

Fllightthebluetouchpaper · 04/11/2008 21:26

Thanks

I hope yours goes very well. People seem to go mad at the last minute, don't they?

I had about 50 watchers on a doll once, it went to reserve but no higher - I think it's just the interest in how much it'll fetch, if it's something very nice.

I think the Heals one might have gone beyond my means though. However it might have stuck at 200, who knows...she said she had about 50 questions, I told her to write a description next time lol

It didn't say anything good like the fact it was hand made, took three months to build etc. Have given her a little ebay tutorial

She was lovely though.

QwertyQueen · 05/11/2008 18:05

OK, I have found a pic... if you want me to e-mail it, please send your addy!

Fllightthebluetouchpaper · 05/11/2008 20:57

Ooh! I'd love to see, can't buy it of course now, but my friend in Shropshire wants one!

sintypuppa at googlemail dot com

thanks xx

Fllightthebluetouchpaper · 08/11/2008 18:36

Well, here it is at last so I thought i'd let y'all know...

It is very lovely, as far as I can tell. It is currently vertical in the hall as we have not yet moved the other two

One will have to go

Plus the cat has just climbed up it, digging in her claws about every 15" so there are little paw shaped claw prints all the way along the back!!!!

She sat on the 'top' right next to the lampshade for about an hour. Only place she won't get attacked by ds2 really.

It is very soft velvet and only a bit grubby but it is 6 years old.

Looks very sturdy.

Fllightthebluetouchpaper · 09/11/2008 10:57

Ok in the cold light of day, we now have to get shot of one of them and having tried the Heals one in it's place, it is a bit bigger than the other one and doesn't look as right in our room. So I think it is going.

My best friend might be interested, but GGirl, if she says no then you're welcome to make me an offer.

brimfull · 09/11/2008 12:11

FA-have you still got the link to it

Fllightthebluetouchpaper · 09/11/2008 12:25

Yes, it's here

It is very plushy and lovely. Very solid, just a bit grubby round the edges.
