Does anyone else have their thermostat at 14?

Is it warm enough?

14? Blimey! I had mine at my old house at 22.

14 is bloody freezing! Ours is normally 20 but i just bunged it up to 22 as there is a right chill in the air!!

we don't have a thermostat.

We usually have ours somewhere between 16 and 18.

Mine's at 17 and I am a skinflint.
Not on on the daytime though.

We have ours at 17, when Mr Rantings not about I rebel and turn it up to 18!

Blimey no wouldnt the pipes freeze that low Ours normally 17 but today was freezing so put it up to 20 for a few hours.

I don't have a thermostat but that sounds cold.
I reckon at that temp you'd be paying to heat the house but never be warm.

Saying that I go for warm, or no heating, never in between but I feel I get my moneys worth as at least it's warm when the heating is on.

Mine is on around 17 and then on timer for 5-8am and 5-8pm

superkat says she has hers at 15 though and they're not cold.

it will never be truly warm because we cannot afford to heat it adequately.

I would be way too cold at 14 degrees; our is a fair bit higher I have to admit.

Not sure it's an exact science - I'm sure thermostats vary, as do how you use them and how your system is balanced, IFYSWIM.
Interesting though - I think ours is about 17 - 19 when I'm in the flat, 22 when it's DP in charge... (He's the one that claims it's not accurate, thinking about it....)

Ah so even though you thermostat is at 15 the room temp is more like 18?

17.5 here. but only since Mnetters shamed me into it! Was 20 before that!

Ours is at 17 (is quite accurate too). The last hour to hour and a half before it comes on is freezing. I wear many layers and am jealous of dh's cushy office deal.

Depends on which room you're in - some are as low as 12 on a day like today (yes, I was sad enough to go and check ). Thermostatic radiator controls help a lot and in DD's room we have window well insulated.

I am in a new built terrace and have switched my heating off for the night, as I would rather be warm sometimes and in bed the rest of the time than permanently coldd. I set my thermostat to between 18 and 22, but tbh the boiler is fckd and needs fixing, and the pilot light goes out all the time, meaning we wake up seeing our breath.

This time last week we were in a caravan though (long story) - bloody frigging hell we were cold. The kids slept in jumpers and we kept the oven on all night with the oven door open - buit only cos we ddn't have to pay for the gas. My heart bleeds for people who aren't properly housed in winter. Summer's a breeze, in winter they must freeze.

I was reading reports on a Mansfield homeless shelter and when I got to the part where it said "Resident Stephen B (16)...." I think my heart broke a bit.
