where can i get door curtain rails?

not sure i've got the name right.

i have a curtain for the back and front doors. to keep the draughts out.

where can i get a rail to fit the doors/above the doors?

You could get a normal curtain rail and fit it above the door - but you would have to pull the curtain back every time you wanted to open it. In our old house I had a special rail fitted to the door itself which (supposedly) raised up a little when you opened the door so the curtain didn't get caught underneath. It was years ago but I think I ordered it from an ad in my mum's Womens Weekly!

Maybe somewhere like John Lewis or Dunhelm Mills would stock them?

they usually have to be cut to size though

Homebase, etc. You buy a length of rail and the number of brackets you need. You'd also need a hacksaw if you don't already have one.

Ooh Misdee, don't buy anything yet! We've just got a new front door and removed the curtain that was over the old one, so must have a spare pole knocking about. Will check with dh what's happened to it, but if it's the right length for you then you're welcome to it.

CantSleep are they any good our house is freezing got open fire light and only 16 degrees in room but draught coming from front door making it cold. Hows the little one doing?

am not wrried about ruising rails etc. just wondering how best to acheive it IYKWIM.

dont have proper door curtains, but big curtains to block off alcoves and over doors.

dh has measured the gap where we had it, and says it's 195cm (but you can apparently cut it down with a hacksaw if that's too big). Any good?
