Morning EHM

I am still unsure what to do today. I ought to be getting ready fo rwork but as I have no-one available to have the kids this is looking unlikly (unless I take them with me and hope they are able to behave nicely)

Otherwise we'll find soemthing else to do with the day...

Feel a bit deflated tbh

AnneOfAvonlea · 27/10/2008 07:59

Morning all. Living room is a good zone for half term as I will probably spend most of it here. BBL

scattyspice · 27/10/2008 08:12

Yay! Kind friend has agreed to have ds
Just dd to sort out now, and she could easily come with me and help out for the morning at least.
Blasted PiL cancelling childcare as usual

Shannaratiger · 27/10/2008 08:14

Morning all

EHM thanks for the thread well done on the driving test bet you'll be driving everywhere now. Enjoy meeting up with your friend.
Bianca for the child care, I know you enjoy the change of scene.

DP is back at work so can get back on the computer and get some FLYing done.
It's national drawing week so various events going on at our community centre, will definately be checking it out later. DD has woken up with her usual holiday cold, hopefully she will recharge her batterys this week, school has really tired her out.
Had better go and get something done.
Have a good day everyone.
BBL

AnneOfAvonlea · 27/10/2008 12:16

We've been out on a wild goose chase for new school shoes for DD.Leaving it for today and will go somewhere else later this week.

Good news is that DD2 fell asleep on the way home in the car so she is now in bed and DD1 and I have read all of her school books, done her key words and we're now eating lunch. It is so much easier to just look after one isnt it!

Shannaratiger · 27/10/2008 13:33

We had a lovely morning. Me and DD threw our first pots. they were fairly good considering. DS went into teh creche and didn't want to leave. I also sneaked away for an hours stretchecise session, managed to get my legs just beyond vertical was very chuffed the thigh trainer is obviously doing something!
I'm now going to try and get a very tired ds down for a nap.
Back in a minute.

Shannaratiger · 27/10/2008 13:41

I'm back - he didn't scream
AA hope you get some shoes sorted soon.
scatty culling the toys is a good idea, can't face it though.
Sag reason we haven't got a Wii, dp would be on it all the time.
Bianca glad you got the childcare sorted and escaped to work.

I'm definately going to do something.

Bewilderbeast · 27/10/2008 13:46

Afternoon all I hope all are well, I'm loving the seasonal thread title.

Done
rubbish out
bottom of fridge cleaned
1 kitchen surface cleaned and yesterday's chicken carcass removed (dp fell asleep on the sofa and forgot it)
ds taken to granny's

we did a toy cull the other day with DD1s blessing. I said we had to get some toys for her school fair and the Christmas Shoe box. I gathered heaps of tat toys and she got to pick which she kept and which she gave away. I reckon she let about 80% of the pile go. Admittedly there were a lot of McDonalds and magazine toys in there but we have also put her easel in the garage (she uses the table now) and a big pirate ship which DD2 can have in about 6 months. I was pleased.

RR - I think it depends a lot on personality. DD1 is quite sensitive, likes order and is a people pleaser. DD2 may be somewhat different.

Sagtitoldwitch · 27/10/2008 13:55

Kitchen degrimed and decluttered

Front room has a large brio style train set with docks and mountains in it instead of a carpet

DH just rolled in. TTFN x

Someone was asking if we could pass on bargain info (yes?)

Well I've just got DS a pair of shoes for the next 1/2 term from Amazon. They are Sketchers and cost £15 which I think is pretty good

Amazon is worth checking for shoes

TheMadHouse · 27/10/2008 16:01

Afternoon all

I have spent the morning in bed - blast the bugs good gob DH was off, but put pay to a family day.

Plumber has been regarding heating, but we now need an electrician as it keeps blowing fuses that is what colour we are. Why does it have to be when it is freezing. I had only just put the bloody thing on.

House looks OK, apart from the conservatory, but that is where we are living as it has independant heating.

DH has taken DS2 to the shop for treats and DS1 is watching Alvin and the Chipmonks

scattyspider · 27/10/2008 16:16

saga wow thats good, I'd never of thought of looking on Amazon for shoes.

mad sorry you're still suffering.Bad news about the heating.

Done:
house bless
garage phoned car repairs will cost £500 and take all week . Thats upset the budget (totally) and my 1/2 term plans.

TheMadHouse · 27/10/2008 18:43

I have heating - yippee

Scatty Pants about the car - been there and done that not so long ago

Jas · 27/10/2008 21:30

Yay! for heating, Boo! for car.

DP is no longer in work I hate the uncertainty...he may have something next week/tomorrow, but doesn't know.Grr.

I've told him he will have to sign on if he is off for more than a few days, we just can't tide over it any more....

He has cleaned while I froze my toes at the farm with the dc today

New day tomorow.

Bewilderbeast · 27/10/2008 21:31

evening all

paella made and eaten
sink scrubbed
kitchen surface cleaned
bit of vague kitchen tidying
