Mission

I felt bad about leaving with no link

Back after toddler group. No shopping done yet, but parents evening was ok yesterday. DD2 is "unique"

BiancaCastafiore · 24/10/2008 08:57

@ unique dd2 Jas Kaplum* like the name Must catch up soon! Did ds get the present I sent?

scattyspice · 24/10/2008 08:58

Oh God I hate parents eve . Jas you a really good neighbour btw, I'm sure she'll appreciate the thought and feel less vulnerable knowing she has people around her looking out for her.

luda thanks for the haloween ideas and link to that site, I'm going to look at it later and make some stuff with DCs next week (like a proper mother lol).

I had a great time last night. I bought a slinky top and black jeans for my Xmas night out with work (last 2 yrs I've worn head to toe Oxfam lol). You know you're out of the loop when you go into a shop and ask for something they no longer sell lol, I said I was looking for some smart black trousers and the lovely assistant gently told me that black trousers were old fashioned and all the beautiful people wear jeans to go out these days LOL.

Back later with a list (no school today here either).

TheMadHouse · 24/10/2008 09:21

Morning all

Feeling rather tender this morning, but at least I am funtioning a little

Morning routine is part done.
DS2 is refusing to get dressed

I have to make a call - our heating wont turn off (have had to switch off the boiler)

Music and Movement
Shopping (didnt get out yesterday)

Then my lunchtime task is to bleach everywhere (maybe that was my prob and why we re-infected). I dont use bleach based cleaners and you need to to kill off the virus - thanks Anne for the link

scattyspice · 24/10/2008 11:16

Jas · 24/10/2008 12:16

JUST GOT BACK FROM TODDLER GROUP TO FIND MY W/M HAS BEEN BACKING UP AND PUMPING WATER INTO THE KITCHEN SINK, WHICH HAS OVERFLOWED ALL OVER THE KITCHEN. AAArgh! (Didn't mean to be all in caps but it is quite appropriate atm!)

I've mopped the worst of it and undone the u bend. I now need to unblock the pipe (and find out who has been putting fat down the kitchen sink) and clean the entire kitchen.....

I've been a bit of a lurker on your threads this week but I'm delighted to read today's mission - cos I try to wash my bedding on Fridays! I love snuggling in to bed on a Friday night with clean sheets . Hubs is working at home today so I'm going to vacuum and flip the mattresses too.

I have been trawling the flylady site and written up a daily and weekly checklist for my wee flat. I'll keep adding to it and refining it... and play along. I really hope that this motivates me to be a tidy little kiwi.

Jas... shame about your flooding - but it is a good reminder for everyone else to clean out their drains!

Jas · 24/10/2008 12:58

Now I've just found out that Virgin have taken money out of my account without me knowing and I've been charged by the bank I can't get through to anyone to try and get a refund today, either....

I'd really like to go back to bed and start again tomorrow.[sad

Hi all

I have had a nice morning shopping with a friend...couldn't find any black tissue paper...or black crepe paper anywhere!

I've bought white crepe paper instead...so I'll make ghosts instead of bats!

Bianca Glad all was ok for your DD in the end...hope she has a good day Your ghost idea is a good one!

Right...off to do a bit of house work (craft making has kinda taken over!!)

sagacious · 24/10/2008 13:08

hrumph
Amtico fitter has ripped up old carpet. Gone to lay tiles and has not got the strips needed to lay it properly.

They are now on order and "he might be able to finish the job next week sometime"

I now have very attractive plywood (not) as 2 x bathroom floors

Am in a grump
Everything I seem to do today is half arsed and waiting on someone to call me back.

Grump

TIgger That is so sad, brought tears to my eyes. I lost twins at 20 weeks 12 years ago. It was a hard time. I hope she is getting lots of support

BiancaCastafiore · 24/10/2008 14:05

Tigger that is so sad, I am sorry for your friend.

tigger32 · 24/10/2008 14:15

Sorry to hear that Mad. My friend is at home with her husband, have decided to leave her alone for day or 2 then will call her on sunday. ( i sent her text earlier telling how sorry I was and sending my love and hugs and told her to text or call if she needed me and that I would call sunday) Does this ok? wasn't really sure what to do or say and felt I should offer some support without getting in the way.

Sagtitoldwitch · 24/10/2008 14:38

Very Tigger hope you're friend is getting the support she needs.

Hello, like my accurate halloween name?

Just popping by. Had a manic morning as I didn't wake up until 7:35! this morning so it was a mad rush to be ready and out by 8:30

I did as much of the morning stuff that couldn't wait, dropped DS off at school and went to my course. I ended up doing another ladies make up and it looked very good! I was so impressed with myself.

Home and I caught up with my jobs

Take washing up to dry
Bring damp washing down
Load TD and run
Empty DW
Put away
Deal with ham bone (Bone for soup and trimmings for pizza toppings and pasta sauce)
Make lunch
Have lunch
Clean work surfaces
Clean Hob
Get DS's bag ready for tonight
Make dough for pizza

Have to pick him up in 15mins. The end of his 1st half term as a school boy

BBL

TheMadHouse · 24/10/2008 14:47

Tigger Just being there will be great. I got bought flowers, but they made me feel worse a they died. We bought the cats as a reminded, which tells me it was actually 13 years ago - eek

Grouch If you are an old witch not much hope for me either.

I have done as much a I can, time wise - so am off to collect DS1 from preschool and then to the shops.
