do you have accidental damage cover on house insurance

I've just tried Colgate whitening on a month old felt tip mark on one of our oak tables. It hasn't completely come off, but is a lot less noticeable now.

What about those Flash erasers - they are like a dry white sponge and are good for this sort of thing. Just dampen slightly and rub.

Thanks for all your suggestions!
Dp is worried about trying to do it ourselves as he thinks it will look funny-I think i might try the toothpaste on a tiny bit later and might see if i can pop to an aldi if i get a chance!

Is your sideboard solid wood? Is it treated with oil/wax or laquered. If it just oiled then you can sand it down and oil it again. DO NOT do this if the sideboard is treated with lack or if not solid wood as it will never recover.
