will your dd eat yoghurts or softer stuff like mash? May make it less painful for her.

I feel for everyone's kids atm, they all seem to be having a hard time being poortly amongst other stuff going on.

We're just having dinner here, chicken nuggets & smiley faces I really am down to the last few bits in my freezer now so am hoping my oh can come up with something this week or I might have to give up my SAHM status and go back to work so we're not struggling any more

lucysmam · 19/10/2008 12:10

pmsl@me I meant poorly not poortly!

ludaloo · 19/10/2008 12:43

They are most contagious when the blisters come up...the incubation period is about a week (before the blisters appear) DD2's blisters are going again now so it looks like between 4-7 days of blister stage.

They are all happy otherwise....just DD2 who has sore mouth. Lucy's we have been giving her yoghurts etc...has helped a lot (she did absolutely insist on salt and vinigar crisps in the car on the way home and she wouldn't be told until she discovered for herself it wasn't such a hot idea! (she is as stubborn as her mother! )

lucysmam · 19/10/2008 12:59

pmsl salt n vinegar [ouch] [ouch]

I'd maybe keep them off school until the blisters go down on them all, just to be on the safe side if they're most contagious at that stage.

grouchyoscar · 19/10/2008 13:05

Howdydo to you

DH had to watch the grand prix and Ed came in and constantly asked which one 'Lewis Hamwilton' was so not really a lie in but it did make the race more entertaining (Hells teeth, it was so DULL, could cure anyone of insomnia. No wonder Max Mosley needs extreme interests)

Determined not to be the first out of bed today so I stayed put til DH went downstairs. Then I got up and

Made the bed (DH is the messiest sleeper on the planet, my side a tad rumpled, his side, matress topper askew, bottom sheet pulled back, duvet at 45 degrees, how does he manage it?)
Down for breakfast
Tidy away
Up to attic to take down dry/damp washing
Hang 2 loads of wet washing to dry
Take wet damp stuff down
Load TD and run (Had to, things just not getting dry and the wet stuff was backing up)
Load wm and run
Put stained whites in to soak
Sort out dry stuff into 'put away' and 'ironing'
Put away the put away
Take ironing down
Make lunches for tomorrow
Empty DW
Put away
Empty TD and take up
Take meds
Go for a rest

Can't be lazy next week. DH is going to the NFL American Football game at Wembley with the BILs and a school mate and will be out overnight. So just me and Ed. Should be good.

grouchyoscar · 19/10/2008 13:07

Oh Luda your poor DCs. {sad] sounds grim for you all

ITV always make it stunningly tedious though Ruby It does need the Beeb again

Good on your DH for being there tho

ludaloo · 19/10/2008 15:17

Hey ho ladies

I'm actually quite bored now. I've played on the Wii for waaaaayyyy too long and I've put the washing away, checked facebook and my emails....looked on freecycle.....now I'm bored.

Might go and pester the kids

Hello all. Quiet weekend in the coffee household. Am trying to motivate myself to mop the kitchen and bathroom floors. Worked a night shift last night so still feeling a bit shattered. Hope you're all having a good weekend.
Luda Hope the DD's feel better soon.

tigger32 · 19/10/2008 15:42

TheMadHouse · 19/10/2008 16:03

Afternoon all

Have had a really lovley day. Went to waterfall and woods for a walk (some bastard had a go at getting in the car though and bust the door handle)

But went to Whitby and had fish and chips from the magpie and ate them watching the boats come and go - yum yum yum

We are going to have an early bath and then food and snuggle up, as it is getting really windy.

Fly wise

I changed DS2's bed
Washer on
TD on

To Do

Ironing as always
Prepare for the week

Mads mum is mad, but my brother has her today. I am going to suggest she comes to toddlers tomorrow.

ludaloo · 19/10/2008 16:46

Thanks all for your well wishes. They are all currently screaming around the place not looking (or acting) very ill at all!
I think I might send them tomorrow and just let the teacher know the situation...then she can decide.

Mad your day sounds lovely!

TheMadHouse · 19/10/2008 17:01

Baths done
Ironing done
PJ's on
Clothes sorted for tomorrow for the boys

Pizza for supper - oven on

Luda Being inside after your holiday can not be easy for them.

grouchyoscar · 19/10/2008 17:25

Mad what a lovely day! The Magpie is great and Whitby is charming. Thinking of going there next summer for the holiday. DH needs a ready supply of Uncle Joe's mint balls!

Oh for family check my AIBU thread

Ed is singing to himself in the office {awwwh } and wants to do 'some spelling and reading' after tea {shock] He's being really polite and obedient. What is going on?

I have rested (still in discomfort tho ) and I have

Got on top of the laundry
Done the ironing
Ed's clothes and bags ready for tomorrow
TD de-fluffed (filter and condenser
Front room tidied
Sink cleaned out and pipes cleaned out (soda and vinegar chemistry, Ed loves helping to do that)
Vac front room

To do
Vac front room
Have tea
Ed-ucation help
Tidy kitchen
Load and run DW
Baths and polish
Bed

Tomorrow AM I have a neuro physio appointment sat the hospital. Hope it helps.

See you all tomorrow afternoon

lucysmam · 19/10/2008 17:49

Mad you going to Whitby, I used to love going there as a little one myself!

Luda if they seem fine other than having it if you get me then maybe school will be a good thing!

tigger I didn't need to. He called and spoke to my oh, apologised for just dropping off what he did & is calling round either tomorrow or Tuesday with some more to make it up to at leas £120 for the 4 weeks. Makes no odds to me when he does either as we have everything we could possibly need for the week after oh went 'shopping' in his mam's cupboards!

Am sitting down to do proper shopping list tonight & sort Xmas. Feel like everything's getting a bit out of control so am hoping that by working our budget for these out I will feel a bit better & more in control of the situation than I do now.

Any ideas for make-able Xmas pressies would be gratefully accepted here!

Hope you all had a good one, will maybe bbl if I get bored or unmotivated

AnneOfAvonlea · 19/10/2008 18:46

Lucysmam.

Cheap xmas presents.

Get some small jars (baby jars good), add sweets (buy in bulk, jelly beans), cut some circles of material and add elastic round the top so they look pretty. Handwrite a label so they are personalised.

Make cards you draw a nice outline of a pci and get DC to add fingerprints for eyes, hands, feet etc.

Make some fudge or brownies and put in baskets.

I saw on another thread 'cinema in a box'. Cheap DVD, bag popcorn, in shoe box with shredded coloured paper.

AnneOfAvonlea · 19/10/2008 21:20

any ideas?

Kaplumbagadort · 19/10/2008 21:34

Evening all.
Did a quick scan of posts and see that Ludas DC had hand, foot and mouth. Mine had it one year. Must have been before DD1 started school.
Anyway, when DS2 got it the school checked and it is one of the viruses that they allow kids to come to school with! So i expect yours will be ok to go.

DD2 is awake still. She says her throat hurts . She has had calpol already. She does have a cold though. And so do i!

Had a lovely French market in our little town today. Shame i didn't have more money. We did get 2 big baggettes. They were lovely and warm.

Caught the mouse last night in the trap but he/she (Now named Houdini) escaped out of the deep lidded tub that i put it in! It was the cutest little thing. But now it is on the loose somewhere downstairs so needs re-catchng.

DD2 has just gone to sleep on my lap.Awww.

lucysmam · 19/10/2008 21:39

AoA you are fab, thank-you.

I'm currently taking a break from lists oops an hour long break! Will carry on tomorrow now but am starting to feel more on top of things with my book full of lists!

kaplum lol@ naming the mouse! you're not meant to turn it into a pet you know

Right, gunna put my list book away I think, and then head for a shower if I can tear myself away from here

Kaplumbagadort · 19/10/2008 21:44

I once had a pet mouse called Marmite! It was really cute!
Had pet rats too!

lucysmam · 19/10/2008 21:45

Marmite . . . yum!!

Not sure about rats as pets . . . they give me the creeps

Kaplumbagadort · 19/10/2008 21:47

They make wonderful pets. My brother had one that he trained to go upstairs to its cage and get in.

lucysmam · 19/10/2008 21:50

really I still don't think I could cope with one as a pet. Will stick to the goldfish, at least he can't escape from the water & get me
