How to get splashed candlewax off emulsioned wall?

Thread title says it all really.

Tried icing it and using a pin but it seems bonded to the emulsion.

Should I iron it through newspaper or something like that?

Resigned to repainting afterwards.

Suggestions/experience welcome. Thanks in advance

Yes brown paper.

First thing I would try is try putting heat on it from an indirect source.

Iron a wad of kitchen roll or something and then hold the hot kitchen roll on the wall to melt and aborb the wax.

It that doesn't work then I would iron the wall through a wad of kitchen roll.

Probably need to repeat quite a few times to get it all off.

I wouldn't use newspaper because of the transfer of ink.
