How do I de-scale my electric kettle?

Citric acid. 35p for a small box from the chemist.

Boil kettle full of water, when it's boiled add citric acid and leave for 15 mins, then rinse and boil 3 or 4 times.

boring white stuff about 50p per bottle

just DONT boil it (like i did) the smell of boiling vinegar was unbearabley discusting.... dont even try it [vomit]
