I have a cheaper version (only £60) and it's great.

There is no way I would pay £200!

Pollyanna · 12/10/2008 12:38

I have one and want the mop version now too!

It's great - I leave it on while I do the school run and come back to a crumb free floor.

My only gripe is that it leave loads of track marks on our rug, so I don't use it on that. (dh thinks I am a bit anal about the rug though )

AbbaFan - what's the £60 version you've got? Sounds more in my price league!

AbbaFan · 12/10/2008 13:52

It's called Auto Vacuum, not sure where it's from though as DH ordered off some website.

girlandboy · 12/10/2008 14:13

Thanks AbbaFan - the search starts today!

GrabShellDude · 12/10/2008 14:20

I heart Roomba as well. The Scooba is going to be available in the UK "shortly" according to the website.

I have my name down for them to email me when it happens.

wheresthehamster · 12/10/2008 15:08

Do you think they ae working on an attachment to do stairs? Wouldn't it be the icing on the cake?

AprilMeadow · 12/10/2008 15:29

I love our Roomba - dont know how we lived without it!

AprilMeadow · 12/10/2008 15:34

Wow the Scooba looks fab - i would love one of those as most of our downstairs is wood.

Dh wants the one for the garden (cant remember the name)

Agree tis fab not to have to get the hoover out after meals times, just programme the roomba to work at certain times and 'tada' the pain is taken away

tribpot · 12/10/2008 15:34

The thing I heart the most about mine is it means I can get dh to do the hoovering (in his defence, a SAHD who's chronically ill). Because he finds it hard to pick everything off the floor first he sends it round via remote control whilst he watches the telly - wicked.

Who was it whose cat rides around on the Roomba?

eclectech · 12/10/2008 15:40

Hehe, we've been considering getting one for a while. I think the combination of the time it took me to hoover his morning and the enthusiasm in this thread might have swung the balance.

NomDePlume · 13/10/2008 09:05

Now the scooba I can see the point of. My kitchen floor is huge and glossy cream and a farking nightmare to keep clean. A scooba would help me immeasurably on that one.

mooki · 16/10/2008 22:38

My DH wants to know if they do one to cut the lawn?

Furball · 17/10/2008 05:35

mooki - found lawnmowers here always find it's not a good sign when it's P O A mind you it's a good bargaining tool for the roomba as it's probably sooooo much cheaper.

OK you've sold it to me. Are they available in Australia or will I have to pay $1million (at least) to ship one?

arfishy · 17/10/2008 06:35

OMG they're actually available here!! But they're $500.

Olipop · 17/10/2008 07:17

I love mine too but it is starting to leave debris around ...not so good at sucking up as it once was!!! Do I need to get new inside brushes or something?

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/10/2008 08:28

Aprilmeadow - you can only use the scooba on wood floors if they are varnished. It takes hard wax oil off so that the floors are then unfinished and mark .

arfishy · 17/10/2008 10:44

Aha! I'm stalking one on Ebay Australia for $200. That's much more like it.
