.....have no idea what to do. It was 7 years old and had a hard life. Having searched though the internet a repair person is going to charge approx £50 just to walk in the door.

Is it worth trying to get it repaired, or I do I just give up and get a new one. Curry's have a wide range for under £200.

Has anyone had an oven repaired - was it worth it?

have a look on freecycle, you often get them given away when people re-do their kitchens.

We have a 9 year old Gaggenau oven which would cost lots to replace. The heating element went last month and it cost about £130-140 to replace (70 call-out, 40 for the part plus VAT I think).

But much cheaper than buying a new similar quality oven. And a Gaggenau oven should be able to last a very long time.
