I am looking for a full-size one, good green rating. I can't do the 'Which?' guide free thing, but does anyone else have access to it?
Or has anyone seen any store on online bargains?
Any recommended brands?
Would really like to get one this weekend, so any advice welcome

How I wish I had more interesting things to talk about on a friday night....

We've got an Indesit fitted as part of our new kitchen and I really like it.

Its A rating is good (tries to sound as if she knows what she's talking about) but the main thing for me was noise..and its quiet.

PussinJimmyWhoooos · 10/10/2008 21:43

Loads of people I've spoken to have raved about Bosch so we went and bought a slimline one (space issues) and haven't regretted it since. Its very quiet too..well, I'm deaf but I have been reliably informed its quiet

squeaver · 10/10/2008 21:43

Miele.

WendyWeber · 10/10/2008 21:44

this Bosch one - high score, low price - am about to buy one myself (mine is on its last legs)

That's £250, do you want to spend more?

AMumInScotland · 10/10/2008 21:46

I've got a freestanding Bosch one, which I'm very happy with - they are reliable and quiet, and I think fairly green.

NappiesLaGore · 10/10/2008 21:47

bosch
miele
NOT smeg - they are overpriced shit.

princesspeahead · 10/10/2008 21:48

bosch is the sensible choice
miele if you want something identical to bosch but feel like spending more money for the hell of it

indesit are cheap and crap. neff are fine - interchangeable with bosch (in fact used to be made in the same factory, probably still are!)

ChasingSquirrels · 10/10/2008 21:48

arrgggh - why can't I get a decent semi-integrated one at a price like that Bosch.

ListersSister · 10/10/2008 21:50

Blimey, that was quick !

Bosch - 3 votes
Indesit- 1 vote
Meile - 1 vote

Anymore ?

We have fitted a new Bosch semi-integrated today and it is much louder than our old Neff.

pushchair · 10/10/2008 22:05

ive got a bosch. had it about 4 years. I think it fab. My mothers blew up though!

countingto10 · 10/10/2008 22:09

I have had a Bosch for the last 7 yrs, it is very quiet and reliable (probably pack up now ). I had an Indesit for a year, had an internal leak and fused the electrics !.

My mother swears by Miele appliances.

Had to say it but I think German is the way to go.

slackrunner · 10/10/2008 22:10

We've just bought a Bosch Classix (as linked by Wendy - we got ours from the coop too), which for the price is the current Which Best Buy.

BlackEyedDog · 10/10/2008 22:14

We got a fairly expensive bosch but I didn't think it was amazing - always left a cloudy film of dried soap on the glasses

flogged it and we now have a cheapy basic hotpoint and its fab, much better

Cappuccino · 10/10/2008 22:16

bosch

and a vote from my mother and a woman I used to work with

WendyWeber · 10/10/2008 22:16

My old Bosch dishwasher is at least 10 years old & has had one fault in all that time, otherwise has been perfect - it was the dead basic model when I got it, equiv to the one I linked to (& have just ordered in fact ). It has started making horrendous noises while washing, but still performs fine

My washer is also a Bosch - current one is only about 2 years old (cost £239 although that was a website typo for £293 but still, not a £500+ model) and previous Bosch machine was fine for about 8 years. Also have Bosch fridge & freezer - they work fine, but freezer drawers are now flimsy plastic which fractures (ancient Bosch freezer c 1983 had wire basket drawers, much better)

Anyway I like Bosch & have never been let down so far - unlike top-of-range Hoover dishwasher which flooded kitchen regularly for 2 years until I scrapped it

ListersSister · 10/10/2008 22:35

So, Bosch seem to be most popular ?
Anyone able to tell me what Which say about it?

OP posts:
WendyWeber · 10/10/2008 22:37

Yes - Which pretty keen on Bosch.

They like Miele too, but your average Miele is twice the price of your average Bosch & alhtough they do generally last longer you get left behind by technology.

slackrunner · 10/10/2008 22:39

DH read the Which Report , so can't access all of the details. I think the only downside was that the wash time was long....hardly a problem IMO.

Thank you so much ladies - very kind to give your time on something so mundane!

Should I start a controversial AIBU thead just to compensate?

Complete aside - did anyone see Robert Peston on the news at ten? He looked like he had dressed in the dark - most distracting!

OP posts:
slackrunner · 10/10/2008 22:47

nope didn't see him - did he have more doom and gloom to spread ?

ListersSister · 10/10/2008 22:51

Well, yes he did, but it was hard to concentrate on his words when his pin stripe suit, pink shirt and dark with multicoloured cirles tie were screaming at me too
