Anyone recommend some good pots and pans

Am looking to replace our skanky ones but don't know what to buy. Don't mind spending bit of money (maybe not quite le creuset level though) but would like them to last for years and years and to not stick.

We really like Circulon
Good quality and do not stick.
Debenhams always do special offers on them.

They are black saucepans but after going thru the dishwasher a few times they get a chalky look about them, so if you want them to last they will need to be handwashed.
MIL has had hers for about 298,579,387,592 years.

Just had a quick look on Debenhams and all the circulon pans are reduced, but if you go in store they usually do a boxed set quite cheaply.

I have circulon too, they're great. I got a set of 5 pans for £100 in Debenhams and have added a few bits since. Had them a couple of years.

I have these Stellar, and they have survived. I cook every day (no microwave here), got a set yonks ago from Debenhams £100 but money well spent IMO.

I love my circulon pans - have retired all my le creuset for them because they much more practical. Have a look at www.housemakers.co.uk as they got up to 50% off at the moment. Sorry can't do direct link as on iPhone but go to kitchen shop then pots and pans.

Can I just say I have Stellar pans and they are now 21 years old and look as good as new still.

My grandparents bought them for us as a wedding present and well worth the money.

ooh, ooh, by complete coincidence I've just had a flier through the door from simplywebstores (just put the www and the .co.uk either side) with offers on both stellar and circulon pan sets! Worth a look, as they seem to be offering big discounts.

Thanks! Now for the silly question. Is the only difference with the circulon ones with rubber handles is that you can hold them without a dishtowel and you can't put them in the over. I mean there is no difference in the quality of the pan is there?

Circulon do a range that are all black and they can go in the oven and can be picked up by the handle from the hob.
They might be an old range, but these are the ones that are usually on special etc.
Have not used the stainless steel circulon ones.

I think the range I am rattling on about is called Meyer Circulon 2

I always imagine the stainless steel ones will stick. I have a stainless steel frying pan that is a nightmare.

Oh right I see that one. They have less choice than the black ones with the steel handles. Decisions, decisions!!!

Why not take a trip to John Lewis or Debenhams have good old look and feel etc, then do a price runner on the range you like to get the best price.

That's not a bad idea. Think we might also just buy a frying pan and if we like it get a couple of pots too!

Le creuset are the nuts, but the weight of them is unbelievable, and that is before you even put food in them !!
Love the colours of them and they do look the part if on display in the kitchen, but IMO that is all they are really good for.

What is drawing you to them Jelly ?

I like the colours too, particularly the pale blue ones...but would be really worried about dropping one on my foot!

mppaw ~ oh where to start, they just look the part don't they (from oven to table), the choice of colours just top it off and not forgetting the fact that they will way out last me in the kitchen .

I'm now being put off by the weight issue which is something I hadn't thought about. The cost of a complete new set is also a little off putting, I wouldn't be able to just stop at a 27" pot, I like the griddle thingie too much.

Mayer hard anodised pans are fantastic - my ones are not dishwashable but are a doddle to clean. I think Lakelands now do a circulon hard anodised range that you can put in the dishwasher.
