Asda online - overcharged again - anyone else same problem?

Just had this happen for the second time.

The total on the delivery note was alot higher than I was expecting and after lots of checking I found that the total of all the items added up to about £80, but the total at the bottom of the delivery note was about £95. Depite assurances from helpdesk that I would be debited with the correct amount - hey presto guess which amount I was charged!

Even checking online - one screen shows the correct amount and another one the wrong one.

Their systems are totally crap - how do I know that I've not been overcharged smaller amounts on previous deliveries that I've not noticed.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Who do you think I could complain to (trading standards etc ?) as I feel that they are systematically overcharging people, as I'm sure not everyone sits with a calculator making sure that the totals are right - you just assume that they are.

caz runs away to check if it has ever happened to her................

Only used them twice but not noticed any problems. Will check!

Me! Only a couple of quid but definately a PITA!

ATM they keep putting back in my account and taking out the amount for my last delivery for some reason. Very strange & annoying & has resulted in me paying £35 charges for what the bank are calling mis-use of my card!

DomesticBlobess · 08/10/2008 13:19

lucysmam - glad I'm not the only one.

I'd move my custom elsewhere - but do feel that Asda are cheaper that the other online shops and I can always find an e-voucher online to get free delivery - can't for Tescos or sainsburys.

They always work out about a tenner cheaper for me too!

They do usually refund with no quibble as well. Just waiting to see what they do about my 'mis-using my card' charge since it's them who's faffing about so much with the money

I'm currently avoiding Tesco for the same reason. Their over-charge was only £1 for one item but that's not the point. You can't do your weekly shop and just guess what the total is going to be!! (BTW - there are loads of voucher codes on MSE for Tesco. I usually get between £8 - £12 of an £80 shop).

Also, I find the Asda site harder to navigate than Tesco. I might try Sainsbury's next and see if I can get some voucher codes.

AbstractMouse · 08/10/2008 20:41

I think Sainsbury's stopped online codes after mass misuse. I use Tesco because you can usually get a decent money off voucher, was gonna try Asda but don't think I'll bother.

I used to use Sainsbury's but seem to get more for my money at Tesco.

I've used Sainsbury's for about 5 years. They've been great. They give you a £10 voucher if they miss their slot even by just a few minutes and you sometimes get free samples or even a box of chocolates!
