Does your oh think you can work magic?

Just asking because mine seems to!

A list of what I do in the day:
brekky for all
pots washed and away
lo and me dressed, washed, teeth brushed etc
washing machine on
washing dried
washing folded & put away or on a pile for ironing
iron bits needing it in front of tv
bake every couple of days
make beds in a morning
clean everywhere
organise money (what's going where)
sort out lunches & suppers & tea
play with the lo
bathe the lo, feed her put her to bed

& now . . . as well as all this normal everyday stuff, I am meant to know where things he has moved & can't find are! & be able to magic out of thin air the fiver he wants for 20fags! & find out why he hasn't been paid!

Amongst other irritating things I simply cannot do! Because I'm not a bloody magician or cash machine! or mind reader!

So, is it just me, or are all men like this!!!!????

My dh is quite good at doing some housework but as for the little things that, if they don't get done you would never find anything ..... e.g.
Sorting out the airing cupboard
Sorting out the dvds and putting them back in the boxes
Filing the paperwork so you can find the house insurance when you need it.
Sorting out the bits drawer so the bottom doesn't eventually fall out
Anything else which requires the intervention of magical fairies that do these things for you.
.... Makes me wonder, if he ever stops to think how these things gets done !!

vp I am soooo glad it's not just mine!!

He's driven me crackers today telling me he doesn't want to live in a shit tip any more . Grrrrrrrr!!! May as well have told me I do nothing in the house at all saying that

Maybe they do think faries do these things for them

my exH used to think every takes "5 minutes"

"if you have 5 minutes today could you do x,y,z"

Funny thing was when he decided to do what job it was for me it used to take him much longer.

pmsl!!!

So true! Mine doesn't do things for me though when I'm in the house, it only happens if I'm out all day and he has no choice but to sort the washing or make the beds or wash the pots.

But never too much, in case I wanted!!! to do it

The tractor and hay cutter was all set up for me to go and cut 13 acres - two days after my caesarean section and half an hour from getting home.

I declined.

I once cut off the end of my thumb by accident i didnt mutilate myself,as i was in a&e lay on a gurney with nurses tending me dh announces ' ill treat you to takeaway tonight!!' the nurses roard laughing lol.

pmsl GentleOtter, I have visions of you out there in your dressing gown with baby nicely wrapped in loads of blankets in a moses basket at your feet now.

& chapeloff, 'treat' you to a takeaway!

I feel so much better now I know it's not just mine who's like this

Hi Lucysmam....dont worry you're not on your own! My DP does sod all in the house which wouldnt be too bad as he is at work all day but its the fact i have to pick up after him aswell. Like I havent enough to do!
Things will get better when he gets paid and he can have a fag, Ive been there...its bloody torture.

True, I know that myself! It's just the fact that everything is my fault today like he can't find stuff he moved upstairs to tidy up the "shit tip" we're apparently living in (so much for my FLYing efforts ) & I simply don't have the fiver he wants sooooo much to give him. I have £1.50 in case I need to pick up a pack of value nappies if we go anywhere.

It's driving me potty! But I do feel better now after reading this, especially GentleOtter's post. That would have made me spray the laptop with beer if I had one!!!!

My ex was like that, always moaning about the house not being tidy enough. It really used to get me down actually, I could do so much all day long and look after my 3 children but he'd still complain that there was one piece of paper on the floor when he got in. It was soul destroying, one of the reasons (along with many others) that I finally decided enough was enough.

Don't worry Jodie - I've been running round in circles trying to get my house sorted to go on the market - estate agent came to take some photos today - so could get viewers any time and bits of it still aren't sorted lol.

FAQ - Ah sounds good then, hopefully you can get the rest sorted before you have people viewing. It's so hard though, I feel like I just do the same things over and over all the time and as I clean and tidy the kids follow making more mess hehe.

it's actually not too bad - most if is now confined to my bedroom - oh and I have a greenhouse full of bags of rubbish which I need to ask a friend if they can take to the tip for me .

I suppose at least it's a way to mark the babies arrival, although I'm not sure it'd have been my gift of choice

Well I hinted strongly at something a bit sparkly that might look good on my finger or dangling from my ears, lots of carats.....farmers only hear the word sheep though when carats are mentioned.
Thank God it was not a cow.

Bramble the sheep! Is she all ringlety looking like the ones in the picture? Nice looking actually, for a sheep, not that I know anything about sheeps

Is she a pet sheep?

Not me the fairies do it all!!

We have a:

Laundry Fairy - Called Lenora
Shopping Fairy called Ocadora
Hoovering Fairy called Dysonetta
Cleaning Fairy called Mrs Sheenesta
Lunch making Fairy called - Hovisetta

And sadly the child rearing Fairy is just called MUM!!!

My favourite phrase whilst running around the house cleanig up everyone else's shite is - Oh don;t worry the bloody fairies will do it!
