I have black strappy sandals from debenhams and where they have been in the cipboard (am heavily pg so not been out this summer!!) theyve got a bit battered and worn looking. They are sort of suede type material but not real suede as only cheap. They are comfy and cant afford new ones so what can i do with them? Was considering colouring them in with black felt but looks like its gonna rain!

Steaming kettle to raise the nap.

You could get black shoe polish/cream etc and then spray them with protective spray.

i dont think polish will work because where the material has gone a little bit almost 'bald' from getting scuffed its a bit shiny..

Margo.... what are you on? the nap??

No really, it's a shoe term. Try it on an inconspicuos area rfirst and give it a little brush just to refresh them.

so hold them over a boiling kettle? Brush it after?
