Tigger to hear about your cat

I'm having a horrid couple of days. Kids are off school. Took them to the doctors this morning, DS and DD1 have conjunctivitis.
Both have eye drops and can't go back to school until Thursday.

The new washing machine doesn't work
DH bought it home, we plugged it in.....nothing.
The instructions say their is a fault. DH spent half the night faffing with it and has managed to get it to spin, but that is all it will do!
We tried all evening to get hold of the seller, and received an email this morning to say that it was working perfectly in their house so WE must have broken it transporting it
Stupidly we paid cash on collection and didn't ask to see it working, so feeling very STUPID
DH wanted to drive the 4 and a half hour round trip to shove it back where the sun doesn't shine, but we honestly couldn't afford the diesel
We are trying to persue it through Ebay and have left negative feedback, but even that is fruitless....they have now moved house!

Well it could be a lot worse I suppose....no one is hurt. Just £90 down and a day wasted of Dh's time

DH is feeling particularly I think...

One horrible lesson learned there!

Oh Luda !

Done:
shops
reboot laundry

To do:
Hoover
dust
Eve routine

lucysmam · 29/09/2008 16:51

luda very very pants that they've now moved but I would still persue through ebay as they may have changed the account holder details on there so may be some way of getting you your money back. Hope the kids aren't driving you potty after just going back to school after hols

I'm still waiting for J's mum to pick him up. Have decided they have until Wednesday to get their act together or that's it. Neither of them seems to give a shit about their kid tbh & seem to think I'm going to let them walk all over me. Even after me telling them I wasn't impressed the other day & telling them they need to provide more food for him. His mum's meant to pick him up at 3:30, yet here we are at 4:50 I'm feeling very very pissed off & am trying not to lose it with them over it but it's starting to wear very thin now . . . no-one's busy every single moment of the day for 3 weeks & doesn't sit down for a cuppa at some point. They're just plain old lazy imo

lucysmam · 29/09/2008 16:52

sorry about the rant btw, better here than losing my rag in front of the 2 kids

TheMadHouse · 29/09/2008 16:58

Oh Luda - I really feel for you. Hard way to learn a lesson though - some people can be so unscrupulous. Horrible man

We got our washer from a local company and they offered me six months interest free, so I paid a little each month. Is that doable?

We are back from the libary with more books and I have also bneen to the post office with the boys on the way.

I have done the ironing, but not yet put it away.

I need to brave the mess that is the garage to see if I can find a spare lampshade and also some more fabric softner

Evening All

Done everything on my list for today except-

Mission- will do 2 tomorrow!!
All of bedroom! Ive started it though and feel much better just for doing that. Im concentrating on sorting out DS's clothes etc. Cant believe how much stuff accumulates in 7 months! Ive counted out 18 pairs of tights...some of which dont even fit anymore...so if anyone knows a baby that is tightless??

Ludaloo- I cant believe how awfull people can be, you cant trust anyone can you?

I'm just going to finish this big bowl of Rolo icecream and then have a shower.
Should really stop pigging out....cant stop eating since giving up smoking a year ago.

Everyone have a relaxing night.

cafebistro · 29/09/2008 19:45

I meant DD's tights...DS doesnt wear them!

grouchyoscar · 29/09/2008 20:38

Awh buggeration luda See if you can chase it through eBay and see if you can find a local tradesman to fix it. and for you

Everything is shipshape at Grouchy's. I know cos I'm the one who did it Tea made, washing up done front room and kitchen tidied, lunches made, clothes out, bags packed DW emptied and put away. Bish bash bosh Job's a good un

Ed has been absolutely lovely today. Good at school, homework done, polite etc etc is it the same child? Keep it up my son.

See ya tomorrow

ludaloo · 29/09/2008 22:40

Evening all and thanks for all your sympathy...very much appreciated

Its still sat in the middle of the kitchen and still not working
Sellers refusing to answer any more calls/emails
DH has been on to Ebay.

I'm going to try and find a repair man to look at it...just worried as we have very little money left to call one!

Well I have been sorting my Avon books out and sorting our holiday out. Luckily that is all paid for (a Sun Holiday) we go in a couple of weeks. I can't wait either!! The kids haven't had a holiday at all this year and they soooo deserve one....and my DH does too, he's worked his socks off this year.
Luckily it won't cost much, just a food shop but we can take stuff with us. Avon has supplied us with this holiday and some spending money

Right off to bed

NN all xx

Jas · 29/09/2008 22:55

Yay for the Sun hol funded by Avon, Luda. I am still for you re the w/m though

DP has work for tomorrow Only two days, but work is work, and it will pay a couple of bills, at least.

His mate apears to be recovering He is now awake, and off some of the machines
