well if we do get it we will

a) have to wait to see if we have enough cash left after the kitchen is reroofed next month

b) paint the edges of the scratty stairs white, which will take a while, sicne we can only do it when the kids are in bed and we go to bed approx 25 mins after them atm

It looks lovely, but is nightmare if you get anything split on it. Any moisture at all leaves a never-to-be-removed water mark unless you dry it staright away with a flippin' hairdryer, and if say, your DH carries a slice of toast upstairs and drops a buttery-marmitey splodge on it, then you are left with a grease mark forever.

We inherited ours with the house, but when we can change it I will. For a lovely blue stripy one.

mine doesnt mark forever

it has had all sorts on it and you can't tell

mind you it is mottley and doesnt show much dirt, watermarks sort of blend in
