Dropped a whole bottle of comfort on a tiled floor - very slippery even after repeated washes - any ideas

Hi All,

I've been very clumsy and dropped the whole bottle of comfort fabric softener on the kitchen floor.

So far I've been on my hands and knees scrubbing it with

Hot soapy water (x2)
Flash liquid, (x2)
Dettol 4 in 1

Even after 5 washes it is as slippery as ice. I'm terrified of falling on it as I'm heavily pregnant and looking after a toddler alone.

Any ideas how I can cut through the grease and make it safe to walk on?

Thanks

Have you any white vinegar? A little mixed with water might work, it cuts through most things but haven't ever tried it with comfort. Good luck!

Great idea, I'll give it a go now and let you know. Thanks

spread some sugar on it before wiping mopping it again.

my best mate did the same thing not long ago in similar physical state.

Excellent, the kitchen smells like a chippy but the floor is now safe.. I'll wash it again with something sweet smelling in a mo. Need to give my poor back a break first..

Thanks so much for the tips

great, glad it worked. Go put your feet up and you might find you don't need to wash it again in 10 mins or so - I find the smell of white vinegar disappears quite quickly.
