If you have a cleaner and a dog please talk to me

Do you go out when the cleaner comes, but leave the dog at home? Do you take the dog out with you? Or do you stay in to keep the dog out of their way?

My dog loves people, but he's a very bouncy sort of dog.

We don't have our dog any more (he dies over a year ago) but we did have him and a cleaner at the same time.We work full time so she had to go into the house when the dog was there.
Mind you, he was quite a calm dog (although did have a habit of attacking the hoover). She would usually put him in the garden when she was there so he was quite happy too.
Ask the cleaner what she thinks and make sure you introduce her to your dog before she starts.

My cleaner's not overly keen on dogs so I tend to put my two in a room out of her way. Then when she needs to clean that room I take them outside.

Even if they like dogs I think it's easier for them to get on with their job without treading over dogs/being jumped up at, etc.

Although, if you go out to work, I'm not sure what the answer is.

What do you do at the moment?

I'm a SAHM and don't have a cleaner yet. I'm just wondering if it is viable with a dog in the house.

Do you feel a bit odd being in the house whilst the cleaner is there?

We have 2 dogs - when we had a cleaner ( happy days ) I used to leave one at home (little old sleepy dog) and DH or I would take the other one out (big bouncy exuberant dog).

I did choose a cleaner who was dog friendly and I know she would have been happy if I had left both at home but I knew that my younger dog would be a real nuisance when she was cleaning.

I have a dog and a cleaner & I'm a SAHM (I know I'm lucky). I'm often here when the cleaner comes and am usually getting on with other housework myself, just try to keep out of her way, or sometimes work with her. If I'm out I always ask her to pop the dog out for some fresh air. Over the years it's never been a problem, the dogs always get to know the cleaners and vice versa

I have a cleaner because I have dogs.
They are foul beasts.
The dog walker comes midday and so sometimes they are out when she's here, but they are generally here for part of the time. She puts them in the garden if they are in the way.
I'm home sometimes when she is here, but I try to go out so I'm not in her way. Or, I'm upstairs while she's downstairs, etc.

muffin - it depends on your cleaner. Our cleaners almost all own dogs so they're not bothered by ours. He follows them about, generally getting in the way, and being attention seeking.

However, he is large and loud and tends not to let anyone in if DH or I aren't here, so I didn't leave him at home alone when the cleaners were due, until he knew them very, very well (about 3 years!!!).
