we have an ektorp as well.

almost 4 years of kids and no dining room means our covers need replacing (new ones ready for when we move), but the sofa is fine and very comfortable.

foxinsocks · 21/09/2008 15:49

you know what always amazes me, is that you all remember the names of the things you buy from Ikea. I can NEVER remember the names just that it was a sofa or whatever. Is v impressive, your memory recall!

ComeOVeneer · 21/09/2008 15:58

Ektorp here as well. Sofa bed one in beige. It is for the playroom. I agree it is a good bed but a bit hard for regular "sitting on" iyswim. Our first sofas were hand me downs from my parents (bought in Ikea in Holland, transferred up to Scotland, over to the middle east then back to England, then given to us,then 3 further moves later one is still going in the playroom alongside its more modern sibling! )

gossifer · 21/09/2008 16:12

Yes and yes - I so miss our habitat one we left at the old flat (would have had to remove sash window to get it out)
The ikea one we have is one of the cheapest ones, bought because is comes apart to get through a small doorway and the cover hangs down

norkmaiden · 21/09/2008 16:16

we have a kramfors corner setup (2 pieces together), in dark sand colour leather. has sagged a little but I like it a lot.

lou33 · 21/09/2008 16:26

i have a big 4 seater one, had it 6 yrs now, still going strong and very comfy, despite 4 kids trying their best to demolish it

it was delivered in 4 parts which were easy to put together

WE've just bought two etktorp sofas- one sfa bed the other in the new blue vintage pattern and they aer lovely. I've had one of their Jennylund armchairs for years and there are no sings of wear- even though it's in the playroom and I've sat a bfed my two in it. They have a 10 year guarnatee. And the covers are cheap to replace, which is a bonus.

Buda · 22/09/2008 06:17

foxinsocks - I never usually remember any names of things but Ektorp stuck in my head for some reason - and obv others as well!

Can't believe some people find Ektorps uncomfortable though. Although we don't have the sofabed ones.

AMumInScotland · 22/09/2008 09:31

We had two Klippans for about 7 years. One was still ok after that time, but one had got pretty saggy. We had extra covers too, easy to clean in the washing machine.

cockles · 22/09/2008 09:46

I have a long one that cost £300 iirc, still fine after 5 years but the covers have faded so get spares if they have them.

Cappuccino · 22/09/2008 09:48

I had one

then we moved and it wouldn't fit so we gave it to friends

it was not shit it still looks nice & they have no plans to replace it and we got it 9 years ago

Dottoressa · 22/09/2008 09:49

We have two Ektorps, a Tomellila (spelling?) and an Ingared (which I don't think they make any more). The Ektorps are excellent, despite the attentions of two children!

I have a med priced one with removable covers, unfortunatly not machine washable, not that they would fit in anyway. But it has lasted well, getting on a bit now, FIL had to add a support under the middel as it is about 7ft long so was sagging in the middle.

All in all happy with it.

My bed is a bed settee from Ikea too, design for everyday use, neve folded into a sette always just a bed, had it for about 5 yrs, I am starting to feel the slats through it now and changing it for a proper bed.

piratecat · 22/09/2008 22:41

have one, a bench seat type one, has been great, it's 11 yrs old now. a bit worn, no removable covers, but it's done a blinder.

HuwEdwards · 22/09/2008 22:43

yes, in the Conservatoire.

v.comfy but eff me the covers are pricey...

HuwEdwards · 22/09/2008 22:44

think ours is klippan. In fairness though, it is home more to Barbie and her endless world of colourful crap, than mine and dp's arses.

poshwellies · 23/09/2008 10:48

Got 2 Ikea Kramfors leather sofas, they are fine, good quality for the money.
