Hard water stains ...

... well chunks of chalk to be precise, in bottom of microwave steriliser. It is taking ages to scrub off with fairy liquid and scourer.
Any other less labour intensive ideas would be much appreciated!

I believe white wine venegar will remove limescale. Put in enough to cover the bottom and leave for a while. Need to give it a thorough rinse after to get rid of the smell though. Alternatively the kettle descaler stuff you can buy would probably do the trick.

Thank you! I will try the white wine vinegar, as I was keen to avoid the descaler chemical stuff if I could.

white vinegar works for kettles too. And is loads cheaper than the steriliser descaler sachets that you can buy that I made the mistake of buying & paying about £2.50 for!

but DONT make the mistkae i did and boil it...

the smell is beyond discusting, the worst smell i have smelt in my whole life ever

it will work though
