I should've name-changed for this

Last chance to do them before winter, so what's the best way. I have washing machine, bath, washing powder, vanish whitener etc.

Thanks

Anna, what is that translucent film called here?

CostaRicanCod · 16/09/2008 10:58

"seethrougheystuff"
i think.

translucent film sounds really naff

How dirty do your nets get? I just bung mine in the washing machine and then hang them back up straight from the machine - if you open the windows they dry really quickly.

As we have a ground floor flat we need the privacy of nets, it's fun nosying through everyone else's windows (majority have blinds) but I don't want them doing the same to me We've got opaque film on the kitchen window and it's rather fab (very cheap diy stuff from IKEA), but wouldn't work on the other windows.

Course it is.

By "here" I mean France though, so it's "trucquonvoitpresquatravers" probably

I don't know . I could corner my neighbours and ask...

Oh I am not sentimental at all about impractical period features - my grandparents lived in an old cottage that was a nightmare to live in - no heating apart from an open fire, drafty sash windows, no inside toilet, etc. etc. They would totally approve of the pvc windows my aunt has put in I'm sure!

I'm not entirely sure how we ended up with an old house tbh, it wasn't really the "plan"...

You can get the stick on translucent rolls at homebase. They come in various patterns and simply press onto the dampened glass. There is no glue involved. You can peel them off and stick them back on again.

I don't think there naff at all. Here's a picture of mine I used at the side of the front door because the net kept catching in the door. Obviously there are a lot of different patterns available.

dont worry op i have nets,i have to live on a very busy road with traffic lights right outside my door

when i clean them the amount of people i see sat there waiting for the lights and having a good nose

some people are just snobs about things like nets etc,i really cant be bothered to get in a spin about things like that
