What do French people use Eau de Cologne for? I keep seeing it (in particular, Bien Etre) French kitchens and bathrooms and think it is being used for cleaning? And if so, cleaning what?

Perhaps post in Living Overseas? Bathrooms make sense as that's where you go to make yourself smell nicer but kitchens?

I reckon it's in kitchens for use on the laundry. I use Mont St Michel on bedlinen etc when ironing it, for example.
Sometimes I stick a capful in the wash.

That would make sense. Lots of French homes have washing machines in the bathrooms.

I have used it in the ironing - I get an orange one in carrefore, its cheaper than the crap fragrence water they sell in uk and far nicer smell.

I also use it as an everyday perfume

Clothes and you smell the same
