But it must be under the drum iyswim as it is not inside where the clothes go. Do I need to get a plumber out?

Is there maybe something metal loose inside it?

PoorOldEnid · 10/09/2008 12:08

you need to check the drain filter hole thingy

it could be something caught in there

PoorOldEnid · 10/09/2008 12:09

lol www

GreatGooglyMoogly · 10/09/2008 12:13

look at instruaction manual

mine has a round thing on the front that you unscrew and pick hair clips and pennies out of

MatNanPlus · 10/09/2008 12:27

missing any bra underwires?? mine fit thru the holes in the drum

GreatGooglyMoogly · 10/09/2008 13:06

I fear that may well be what it is MNP. Off to check the instructions to see if I can get it out myself - Thanks Enid.

Bra underwire

I called a guy out to look at my machine and he pulled 2 wires out from the drain thingy at the bottom of the machine.

MatNanPlus · 10/09/2008 13:18

I wish MmeLindt hubby no refuses to take machine apart

he has to buy me a new bra as i could repair if given the lost bit back.

haven't informed him replacement wires can be sourced

Goober · 10/09/2008 13:20

Mine did the same thing.
Then died.
However the new machine is great.

GreatGooglyMoogly · 10/09/2008 14:19

Well, I emptied and cleaned the filter but there was only soggy lint in it, so I decided to run an empty wash and now the noise has stopped!

Might have been a button or something catching the sides.

(btw: you can get replacement wires!! Never knew that. Afraid my wireless bras go in the bin)

JuneBugJen · 10/09/2008 14:30

Brilliant!

Mine has sounded like it has rocks in it all day as well so going to go and check the filter(whereever that may be...)

GreatGooglyMoogly · 10/09/2008 16:36

Aaargh!! I have now done a real load of washing and the noise is back; whatever it is must have temporarily lodged itself or something. I am going to have to call a plumber aren't I? Presumably it could be dangerous?

bobsyouruncle · 10/09/2008 16:45

mine makes that noise and I deal with it by... ignoring it

GreatGooglyMoogly · 11/09/2008 06:59

Really? How long has it been there? DH wants me to ignore it!

OP posts:
bobsyouruncle · 11/09/2008 16:26

oh.... ages Still waiting for dh to do a load of washing one day, hear the noise and deal with it. But I fear I may have a long wait
