oooh - I will be watching this thread - we need new storage and a desk as well and Ikea was as far as we'd got really. I did see a lovely wardrobe in Habitat but at a hefty cost! Have you looked there anyway?

why whats wrong with ikea hmm ? LOL

We got a brilliant desk table from Ikea - a wooden plateau with trestles. But we bought stools from Habitat as they were much more robust.

they just dont have exactly what i need in the colours i need.

I usually get something from Argos as an alternative and then end up being disappointed that it isn't as well made as Ikea stuff.

Why don't you want to use Ikea?

Anna8888 · 07/09/2008 15:43

What colours are you after?

moondog · 07/09/2008 15:45

Don't Muji do cool and v cheap furniture?

I bought a loft bed with desk, drawers and bookcase from Argos. I'd researched loft beds for ages and this was, by far, the best deal. When it arrived it was actually a Thukka (sp?) which cost more than double the price on all other websites.

Ds' bed is whitewash. My friend has white furniture for her girls from MFI but not sure how long she's had it.
