so granny decided to put manky but well loved velveteen type bear in the wash. he now looks bedraggled and has lost that lovely soft feeling they have. ds1 is having nervous breakdown upstairs

can he be fixed? teddy that is. if I tumble dry him, will he be wrecked for life?

In desperation I've brushed one with a softish (but not too soft) brisle brush - that sort of works...

if you try tumble drying use very low heat as the fur can melt pretty easily...and will never be soft again!

Ttumble dryer will be fine as long as there is nothing on him that will melt. I always tumble dry the soft toys I wash and they come out so soft and fluffy.

oh god, is complete nightmare. pita mil.

so, have put another similar ted, but not so favoured, in the tumble drier and will see if he comes out melted or not

fingers crossed
