Also is there a nicer but inexpensive alternative to Fablonning my kitchen cupboard doors?

Sage Tree by Crown or Sweet Cicily by F&B.

Just get the kitchen doorrs changed and keep the carcasses - get them in a cremy colour and will look fab.

Yeah a magnolia/cream colour would look fab. I have that colour in my kitchen and my work top is oak which is very like the colour you have on you floor. Actually I still have a pic on my profile from another thread so you can see how well it goes.
