Do lined curtains make the bedroom stay dark in the morning? Also would it be a good idea to get darker curtains to help block out the sun light??

yes, darker and lined. Or blackout blinds if you want to be extreme!

if the curtains are light coloured and lined they will still let light through.

how old is your dd?

personally i prefer lined curtains to blackout blinds, they block enough without going to extremes - and i don't want dc that will only sleep in pitch-black darkness as they sometimes go to grandparents etc
My DD has pink curtains with very thick linings , works just as well as the dses room which has navy blue curtains and lighter weight linings iyswim.

dd is 14months, i got some fuchisa coloured curtains, they do keep out the light, but not sure if the colour is too grown up for dd, but hey they work so will have to stay..

Now need to work out how to get dd to sleep alone...........
