ok, am having big clean before I go back to school next week. Have wooden (real not laminate)floors and they're filthy!! Which mop and cleaner will do the best job of getting them somewhere half decent and hygenic again??

My mil has a steam mop it is great but you can only use it on certain floor types.

I use one of those string type mops that are made out of strips of stuff, but just damp, with hot water - change the water lots as you go

day to day I have one of those micromop thingies that just swishes round and then goes in the washer

I use a vileda super mop as they can be wrung out quite dry (it's important not to get a wooden floor too wet) and a floor cleaner called "Pro glo" which I think I bought in waitrose. WHat ever you do don't use flash! You can get specialist wood floor cleaners for especially dirty floor. Not sure of the web site but the suff I had recommended was "trip trap" floor soap.
