morning all!!

well not been on here for aggggeess as my SD had now gone home and i didnt have time to think to write my list...but the only mess ive made is our bedroom (which ive missed the mission) and Babys bedroom which needed sorting out. Dp fitted in a new kitchen cupboard yesterday whilst i cleaned the living room and hallway with our carpet cleaner. it was hard work. So the kitchen and dining room are now back to normal as had all the kitchen drawers on the dining table for a week. Today mission will be carpet cleaning the babys bedroom and tidy our bedroom as clothes everywhere!! but have been putting the laundry away. if that makes sense!!!

biglips · 24/08/2008 10:01

yum yum yum!!!!

pancakes......can u make me sum please????

Bewilderbeast · 24/08/2008 10:10

grr ds just deleted my post

biglips pancakes are bbecoming a bit of a weekend fixture in the bewilder house. I make the small american ones and we have them with maple syrup and cream or maple syrup and bacon . The bonus is they are easy to make and use storecupboard ingredients.

lucysmam · 24/08/2008 11:17

pancakes! i never have anything exciting like that for brekky

my oh is still sleeping. i've cleaned up the bathroom and kitchen and decided we're having pies and mash with veg for tea. Although it's a bit roasting hot outside (only just gone out with washing) so maybe not the best decision ever!

Oh's footy mate has been round as well to see if he's still going out with rest of team tonight, first i knew of their plans for going out . Wonder why I never get told they have plans for a night out?

can't be bothered to do anything else atm so having a cuppa (replenish energy after all that cleaning ) and then bake some bread and more jam and coconut tarts as the others have mysteriously vanished overnight and I only had the one I had to 'test' that they were ok

rowingboat · 24/08/2008 11:51

Morning everyone
Laughing at the swimming pool changing room Lucys. Some of those changing room floors are unbearable to touch with feet.
It is quite sunny here (for now) so have put out washing. Not done much else, but my DP also had night time munchies so I need to go and wash up.
He's being pretty good with the flying stuff and has been doing lots of washing up and tidying in the kitchen.
Tort your fence must look smashing now. Are you feeling a bit better now?
Bewilder that is so annoying when you lose your post, and then you don't have the energy to re-write it in full.
Morning
washing out done
washing up 10mins
kitchen rescue 5mins
hotspots x 3 6mins
sort out one nappy basket declutter 15 mins
Make DP's card with the LO 30 mins or 1 hour 30 mins depending on how elaborate we make it.
Read Feel the Fear 15 mins
Find 4 books for the charity shop
plan dinner 5mins
Load of washing in for night wash

That's about it.

Question We have to make a birthday cake at some point, it's a sponge recipe, is it better to make it on the day do you think? The birthday's tomorrow.

grouchyoscar · 24/08/2008 12:04

Lucys I'm not keeping caterpillars as such, just keeping the blighters off the brocolli. Mind you I have a record of keeping minibeasts. Last year I was telling the FLY ladies about Ed's pet snails he collected. He had 8, all with names and they lived in a glass biscuit barrel. We recorded them in a book and release them to the compost bin. It was fun

Sorry...hello ladies.

Having a quiet steady day today and encouraging Ed to do some writing (like pulling teeth tbh) I'm not even dressed!

Slummy Mummy is us

lucysmam · 24/08/2008 12:56

grouchy yuk yuk yuk, don't like creepy things!! oh pees himself laughing at me running away from creepy crawlies!

well my lo is now snuggled on the sofa with daddy watching 'come inside' or whatever it is on cbeebies so am off upstairs in a mo because I'd forgotten we have another huge toy box full of clothes . they're breeding i'm sure

rowingboat my mil always makes us a cake for our birthdays and usually the day before, it would keep fine overnight in a tin of some sort afaik

lucysmam · 24/08/2008 12:57

speaking of cakes, I have decided that's a fab idea rowingboat except have no eggs or cocoa powder or drinking choc to make one!!

Hi

I have been clearing and sorting my kitchen cupboards out.
I decluttered the pots and pan cupboards...it was getting ridiculous, everything fell out as I was trying to put stuff away!
decluttered the food cupboards too, and made a fruit cake with some nearly out of date mixed fruit.

Just thinking about making a nice supper....have some cauliflower that needs using so might do some cauliflower cheese. Have some nice pork and might do some yorkshires too....yum!

Washing almost done here....has taken pretty much all day to get through it all though!

I'm still sorting the kitchen...I've been in there all day!
supper almost done now, just waiting on the yorkshires and the roast potatoes.
I'm starving and have to stop myself picking bits as I go along!

Hope you are doing ok

rowingboat sponge cake will be fine made tonight for a party tomorrow, just keep it air tight in a tin

lucysmam · 24/08/2008 18:53

luda would you send some roast spuds my way please? and would you like to come and organise my kitchen for me?? I don't mind if you would

Have just had tea with lo and oh, lo is finally getting the hang of using a fork & more food now goes in her mouth than down her front/on the floor. Although there's bits all over her, her face and highchair to clean up!

She's having a late one tonight as she went to bed at 3pm and didn't wake until 5pm so i don't think she'll sleep just yet and have visions of being up with her at some daft hour ready for the day if we put her up now.

Have already washed pots, dried them and put away after tea just debating what to have for pud now or whether to just raid the sweetie tin that's full of lo's sweets later on while me and oh watch a film

Hello again

I've had a lovely afternoon and a dead nice evening. I went up Donkey hill and collected a kilo of blackberries brougt them home, gave a quarter to the neighbour, stewed down half and...

...I've made some jam!

Going to have homemade jam on homemade bread tomorrow and if I've managed to make blackberry toffee I'll do a sponge pud.

I made jam!

Shannaratiger · 24/08/2008 22:12

Evening everyone

Have had a busy weekend not doing much. Saturday FIL & MIL arrived at 10am to put ds's bed up, living room and our bedroom full of their touy's etc. MIL me and dc's disappear into town. 2:30 bed finished it's lovely ds can't climb on himself but he loves it. Problem is we now only have cot width space in between beds and have lost about 50% of our storage space Job for next week completely reorganize storage in the whole flat, it's just not working. Took 7 plastic bags of clothes to the clothes bank though.
DS is still awake, DD has only just gone to sleep (I think) due to them both having late naps, they both fell asleep. I've just finished dinner, am tired, grumpy and want to go to bed.
I'm now going to go on facebook, I'm still trying to get my head around it but have caught up with alot of old friends.
Will be back in the morning feeling happy and positive and ready to reorganize

rowingboat · 24/08/2008 22:52

Hi everyone
Bewilder and Lucys thanks for the advice on the cake. As it happens I haven't made it I decided to make it tomorrow.
Now having a change of plan and thinking about making a coffee and walnut kind of cake, sponge with butter icing. DP will be having a lie-in tomorrow so there should be time.
Went for a nap after lunch and ended up sleeping until 5. Have been very tired the past few days.
Grouchy blackberry toffee sounds gorgeous. What a good idea.
We put some hairy caterpillars into a jar with the leaves they lived on and they turned into butterflies - this was years ago, but it is fun.
Dinner is made by DP
I have to wash up and tidy the kitchen and do hotspots.
Lucys how would you describe the build of your LO ? I have some nappies here that were a little bit big in the waist for my whippet-like LO, but would probably be fine for most average toddlers.

lucysmam · 24/08/2008 23:23

rowingboat she's tall but has quite a pot belly (sounds an awful thing to say i know!) with her being constipated all the time.

I'm just off to bed after a very lazy evening and lots of munchies!!
