Sag if only - it is pissing down here

lucysmam · 18/08/2008 15:55

scatty yes xmas because i've got visions of being skint at xmas & it's lo's birthday not long after and mine before hers so thought i'd budget a fiver a week out of tax credits for something for either xmas for someone or for lo's birthday so we don't struggle too much around the time.

I've been sorting airing cupboard out too and have come across 4 brand new rolls of xmas paper, odds and ends of birthday paper which will both do us next year and a full box of various xmas cards so we don't need either of them!

am off to do something else . . . just not sure what to do now as everywhere looks relatively clean and tidy here for once! might have a rummage under lo's bed n see whats lurking that we've not seen for months

TheMadHouse · 18/08/2008 17:34

Evening all

I am sorting dinner, well warming up the leftovers to go with the sausages

I have the dryer on again!

I have also managed to pop into town to return the gas regulator which didnt fit (have one on order now)
I also visited poundland for batteries too

So still to do is the IRONING

grouchyoscar · 18/08/2008 18:23

Hello again

Went down town to get Ed some new uniform but the cash stayed in my pocket...the sizing was crazy, Ed, a big lad granted is 5 but was too big for size 7-8 but the next sizing was 9-10 and it smothered him.

But I've managed to get some vinegar for cleaning with and it's fab, cleared the annoying bit of limescale off the loo no problems. I'm a convert! So can you who know explain how to use it to keep whites white and I can ressurrect my white bathrobe and Ed's school polo shirts.

TIA

EustaciaVye · 18/08/2008 18:47

Grouchy - did you try Adams? I find their sizing comes up small.

Who can help me find a new pushchair?

grouchyoscar · 18/08/2008 18:55

EV I find adams not bad for shirts. I find George is a smaller sizing and Cherokee pretty fair, just Ed who is a size 6-7 years already. It's the jumpers with the school logo that we need. I'll pop to another shop and grab some.

lucysmam · 18/08/2008 19:44

grouchy vinegar for cleaning your loo? I'm intrigued . . .

Bewilderbeast · 18/08/2008 20:20

evening all

done

washing up
dinner made
shopping done

Jas · 18/08/2008 20:55

Vinegar is great for getting rid of limescale LM

Try putting it in the conditioner drawer for white washes Grouchy (But the only thing that really works for me is sunshine)

I agree with keeping on top of the mess BB. Even with school holoiday mayhem, things aren't as bad this year as they were pre FLY.

I've had my parents and my nephew here today (Lives abroad and is visiting for the week) so we all had a lovely day playing, but I managed to clean most of dd2s room before they arrived, so I will try and finish before our day out tomorrow, then we will be winding down the activities so I have time to get packed and load the car on Friday for the 4am start on Saturday.

saltnshake · 18/08/2008 21:14

Could someone here tell me if it is possible to get the email reminders from flylady in UK time so I am not told to go to bed when I've not long got up? (even tho that would be nice)

Jas · 18/08/2008 21:18

I get them in UK time, but it is a completely different (secular) FLY site which does the zones and things in a different order.

It is fine if you FLY independantly of these threads, but I just keep checking here insteadand trty and stick to the US zones.

You can get a daily digest of all the emails in a once a day hit if that would help...

saltnshake · 18/08/2008 21:25

Thanks Jas can you direct me to the UK site? I think I need the nagging aspects of lots of emails - i usually delete / ignore it a few times bfore I do it!

Jas · 18/08/2008 21:29

I've been trying to do a link for you but it is a Yahoo thing, and I never use it and have forgotten my password

I'll have another go...

saltnshake · 18/08/2008 21:34

You mean to say your password not in your control journal?

Jas · 18/08/2008 21:44

Try here, but you have to join the group to get the emails I think.

I did it a long time ago with an old email, and an even older computer, and usually just delete the emailsnow

Please don't kick me out now I've been outed as such a rubbish FLYlady.

Jas · 18/08/2008 21:50

This looks like the same FLYlady, so might be better, but I've never tried it

saltnshake · 18/08/2008 21:59

Thank you that worked and i signed up. Thank god for the secular element too. i wonder if there is a breakaway Make Partners Help Group too. Right better get back to clearing up kitchen before I get diverted.

Jas · 18/08/2008 23:00
