Could I machine wash this bath mat to get rid of that mouldy mildewy smell?

This is the one I have. It always makes the side of the bath stinky and I'm sick of it smelling!

I wash my IKEA rubber mat in the machine at 40 degrees. Seems fine - although it's not patterned.

Wilkos - didn't even look at the site - just searched on duck bath mat and that was the one I have....it does look a bit naff to me (the site not the bath mat!)

Think I'm just going to shove it on a low temp into the washing machine. I mean what's the worst thing that can happen (well I suppose it could melt and ruin the washing machine )

doubt it would melt - it's got to be tough enough to withstand undiluted hot tap water don't forget - which is much hotter than 40 degrees.
