Wet, smelly wellies...help me please!

Brought DS his first pair of wellies. Tusday he went splashing in a very large puddles and got them soaking wet. Put a cloth in them thinking this would dry them out. It didn't and they are now still damp and really smell.
What can I use to dry them out and ge rid of the smell?

You could try sprinkling some bicarb in them - might absorb the smell. But not sure how well it would come out. YOu could stuff with newspaper, and put in the airing cupboard if you have one. Replace the newspapaper fairly regularly. Or maybe blast them with a hairdryer?

Try filling them with cat litter.
No really - it does work.

Thanks, was thinking the same thing about the bicarb. Will try the cat litter, makes sense.
