Today went something like this:

Have shower then realised no clean jeans...root around and find combats only to find all tops that go with combats are in the wash...

Finally find a clean pair of jeans in back of wardrobe, get dressed. Try to dress DS and realise no outfit laid out for him, dash around to find one

DS dressed, me dressed and then the mummy bag is not packed....

And there is laundry all over the house!!

make sure all clothes are out ready the night before. A must in this housr with 6 of us!!

Puss laundry is one of the few housework type jobs that doesn't bother me. You need some type of system.

In our house I wash most days - probably 5-6 times a week. I try and keep a mental note of what washing needs doing. e.g. in your situation I would have realised that if 2 pairs of my jeans are dirty, only 1 pair is left so I would do a dark/denims load.

If you have a dp/dh then laundry isn't necessarily just your job. Also depending on age of dcs (my dd is 4) they can empty washing machine etc and put some stuff away (within reason)

I try and get an hour or so of housework done first thing. I can get a lot done in an hour (baby is either asleep or playing in the same room). It's the distractions such as a "5 minute" mnet break etc that hinder me...

littleducks check the weather forecast or if really not sure have an alternative outfit to hand.

Puss it is really boring I know but on days you need to be out of the house at a reasonable time, you might need to get everything ready the night before. (I often race round as can't find keys etc.) If you lose several things then you have no chance of getting out!

I'm pretty good with most things but laundry defeats me! I take ages to hang it and put it away...what I really should do, is put away all my pre pg clothes and that would clear a lot of space...but I keep thinking that one day I'll get back into them...and they are all so nice!!

Right if you are good with the other stuff then I will come round and do your laundry and you can come here and dust and hoover or whatever else you want to do.

Perhaps put the pre-pg clothes in a box (or similar) so that they are still accessible but not causing wardrobe to overflow.

leave bag packed after each trip wipes toys blah blah etc clean out the accidents pershiables..and just fill with water milk fresh snacks keys phone etc just as you leave the house..

do laundry on a home-in day? check outfits night before..

it does take ages though to get shifting with babe in tow

after 4 years i plan in advance a day or so, not uber organised but tick by without major setbacks, usually one day in doing housestuff = couple of days to scoot out and about doing more enjoyable stuff..

onepiece - its a deal! Am a bit of a dust fiend actually!

Right...am going out tmw am so will aim to have my outfit, DS's outfit and the bag ALL ready and see how much difference that makes....

Oh and going off topic a bit slightly, do you find your DH/DP's blithely suggest that you do x,y,z outings with the DCs without really realising how much is involved just to get out the bleeding door!! I'm sure Hilary scaled Everest with less hassle and equipment!!

Also I would add that on work mornings I can be out of the house before 7.45 (generally) with all left fairly in order. However this does involve mega planning the day before and I get in the shower at 6.15 am.

On non-work days I am ready more like 10am!

Puss, I will leave clean dusters ready for you. Please leave your laundry ready and I will pop round before work tomorrow.

Well, I am going out tomorrow...but I've been out this evening as well, and instead of being downstairs laying out outfits (all unironed atm I should add) and packing the mummy bag..I am..ahem..well, mnetting about my lag of organisation..

Ah bugger that buy more clothes. Or do as I do and insist that since you are the font of all food for the babies (well okay not all food but the only thing they will reliably eat) that laundry is his job.

WMMC! Mwah! How is your tum? Fecking doctors! I would like to buy more clothes but am too fat!! 5ft 2" and 12st 5lb....eeek!! On the plus side - clear smear!! TTC starts in next few weeks!!!

But your argument is crap - you are more likely to lose weight if you are feeling good about yourself. Having jeans which fit you and look good will help you feel happier and also make your arse look smaller.

Besides you may well get some use out of them post partum after you conceive and have your next baby

Yes but I do go into town feeling good about myself, then when I go into the changing rooms to try nice jeans on or whatever and see my baby pouch wobbling at me and my thighs, I get depressed and seek consolation in a Costa frescato with whipped cream

Bollocks - don't try stuff on, take it back when you have tried it on in the comfort of your own home. I went into M&S today and bought some jeans and do you think I tried them on....no of course not. They could always go back next week if they didn't fit.

Urrrgh at cream on coffee. Skinny decaf cap for me (and yet my arse is still too big!)

I'm not worried about the hospital thing btw, I'm just desperate to get well so I can get fit again! I just want to run- mentally I feel better, physically, still completely fucked!

You'll be glad to hear I went to see my (exceptionally nice) GP who has managed to wangle me an appt a week Monday to see a surgeon.
