mother has given me my christening shawl but its gone yellow

has any one got any idea how to get it white again. its hand knitted.

I'm sure that I've read somewhere that you can, have you googled it?

jst found soaking in water with lemon or white vineger. was looking for some experiance before i get the bucket out
