How can I get the wallpaper glue residue off the wall after stripping, please?

It's dead easy to get the paper off - just rip off the lovely textured vymura nonsense and then soak and scrape the lining paper. It comes off really well but underneath is a sort of invisible layer of glue residue that is seriously affecting the paint I've been trying to cover it with.

Is there something you can use to get rid of the old gloopy glue?

TIA

Does it? Thanks a lot
I thought it was for grease, maybe it will work on this too. I have got some on the shelf!

I think it also did a good job of shifting gloopy glue when I used it last - watch your skin & eyes though

Ok, I will dress up like a mad beekeeper
