Washing out.
WM on with DD2's wet sheets.

Thinking about making soup. Can't think what else i could eat.

morning ladies... you are ll so busy and so organised, i only joined fly lady after seeing it posted on here! worked wonders, am currently trying to get my house sorted whilst doing my uni work( i have a deferal after son was sick during exam time!) so keep working through this and then doing bits ion the house to break up all the reading! you all seem to have it down to a fine art! any tips?

rowingboat · 21/07/2008 13:07

Hi everyone, Tortoise I agree that you should go to the doctors. Can you get an appointment the same day you phone?
Don't go to the job centre if you think you will get worse. Can they do the review by phone.
Hope the pain stays away!
TMH you are busy today, this way you will come home to a lovely, tidy home. Or not, depending on your family. Hope it goes well!

Have done my three hotspots,

washed a bit of the duvet (the bit that got pee'd on ) and put it on the washing line

Potted some seedlings

Put in a load of laundry

shined sink, wiped around bathroom, polished bathtube

Finished sewing pair of trousers

cleaned kitchen, washed up

made egg mayonnaise sandwiches

Dinner is out of the freezer

got dressed to shoes - me and LO.

Now have to do the de-clutter mission in the bedroom - probably will be just dust and clean because our main clutter is the old cot. I don't know what to do with it, but I'm definitely not throwing it out.

off to work this afternoon and a bit of shopping on the way home

declutter another book shelf as my 15 minute de clutter

EustaciaVye · 21/07/2008 13:21

hello everyone.
DD1 had her sports day this morning and has had her last pre-school session. Now it is the holidays (gulp) and then school in September! How did that happen?

tortoise · 21/07/2008 13:21

rowingboat Can only get emergancy appointments on the day and as i haven't had any pain today i can't really call it an emergancy.
I will see how i feel later/tomorrow about going to the job centre. I think it will be ok.

Soup is smelling yum! hope it is. Just chucked various veg in a pan with veg stock.

scattyspice · 21/07/2008 15:57

Hi all and hi katie my tip is make a list and work through it whenever you have a few mins (genius eh?).

Back from the beach it was very windy!

Done:
BR
Laundry

To do:
hoover
dust
BR floor
put away laudry
ironing
Shops
water friends plants
etc

Also we have won £13 on lottery! Will it change me? You bet !

tortoise · 21/07/2008 16:55

12345 the pain is just under ribs in the middle. Can feel like heart area too. Also the pain travels across back and shoulders too. Very painful. On a level with labour pains at times!
Been ok so far with the food i have eaten.
Not sure about tea. Might have to be soup again.
Lucy I make soup. I use oxo cubes though! I do just chuck veg until cooked then blend but some recipes do say to fry the onion a little. Today i had carrot, onion, cougette and turnip! Carrot, orange and coriander is nice so is carrot and parsnip. Oh and butternut squash and red pepper soup too.

lucysmam · 21/07/2008 17:23

thank you tortoise i blended it all together anyways and its actually quite nice, to say i made it and never attempted it before! i made coconut tart thingys as well this aft! so guess what . . . kitchen;s a bomb site again!!!

tortoise what would you put with butternut squash? Ive never tried it but keep wondering about them when i see them, just haven't a clue what i'd do with it!

well, kitchen is now spick and span after my very experimental day in there
front bedrooms a bit tidier but not hugely altered! try again tomorrow maybe.
Have a pile for ebay though and some for chairty shop
Living room all tidied up, although for some reason none of the toy boxes will shut now!

hope everyone's had a brill day in the sunshine! its fab!!!! taking lo to park tomorrow if its ok since my day in kitchen meant we didnt get there today, ttfn xx

tortoise · 21/07/2008 21:36

butternut squash, red pepper soup was the one i did.
Can also just have B'nut squash soup -
1 large butternut squash or 1 medium pumpkin
500g potatoes
1 medium-large onion
Handful of fresh coriander leaves (optional)
1 stock cube
Knob of butter and 30 ml oil (e.g. olive oil)
75ml double cream (optional)
Pepper to taste

Peel the squash / pumpkin with a potato peeler. Chop off the stalk and flower end. Chop in half and use a spoon to remove the seeds. Chop into 1 inch cubes.

Melt the butter with the oil in a large pan

Peel & chop the onion. Then fry it gently in the pan, with the lid on, until it starts to soften. Check and stir to make sure it doesn't brown.

Chop the potatoes into approx 2cm cubes. It's up to you whether you peel them or not. Add to the onions and stir to coat well with the oil.

Add the butternut squash. Stir well. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

When the potato has started to soften, mix the stock cube with about 1 litre of water and add to the pan. Simmer gently until all the vegetables are soft - about 15 minutes. You might need to add more water. Add just enough to cover the vegetables, or the soup will be too runny.

Add the coriander and the cream (if using). Either liquidise or mash well, until smooth.

tortoise · 21/07/2008 21:38

All this talk of food is making me hungrier.
Tonight i have a 3 pieces of boiled spud with a tiny weeny bit of salad cream to dip them in. A banana, cereal bar and in ice lolly.

Tort, hope you're OK x Sounds as though you've had a horrible couple of days. My mobile is knackered so until I can get into town I'm stuck without one ! I'll try to get onto MSN tomorrow to say hello properly x x

rowingboat · 21/07/2008 23:32

Hi everyone, I expect you are all off to bed by now. Tortoise can you phone early tomorrow to get an appointment in the morning. Our surgery has some appointments available for the same day, but you have to phone at 8 in the morning and just keep redialling until you get through.
Hope you feel a bit better tomorrow.
I'm glad to hear TMH is recovering. She must be feeling pretty groggy.
In from work - met a friend for shandy (really), have done my evening hotspots with the dust pan and brush, and the shiny sink and washing on and de cluttered another book shelf.
