Morning all

Feels like I haven't posted for ages!
Our wallpapering in the living room is all done now, looks sooooo much better
Just waiting now to get a new sofa and a few pieces of furniture.
I'd like some new knicknacky bits and a few pictures too.

TMH How long did your gum/jaw ache for after you had your tooth out?
Mine is still very sore It is driving me potty! Neurofen takes the edge off, but it really aches still.
Hope your DS feels better today, and you can rest a bit

Hope the sun is shining today for you all...we have on and off sunshine here.

TheMadHouse · 13/07/2008 11:10

Oh I am not a good person to ask re the tooth, it was 3 weeks before it felt better and even now it can sometimes hurt when I chew. I have a dry socket, which was awful.

littlemissloopy · 13/07/2008 11:30

Oooooh nooooooo..... what is a dry socket?
I'm still waiting for the hole to close, but she made a big hole in the side of the gum too as she was taking it out, so I have two bits that need to heal

Hope yours doesn't give you too much bother now....

grouchyoscar · 13/07/2008 13:12

Hello again Everybody

Wasn't able to get online yesterday as we were on a day trip to the east coast. Had a fab time and Ed was in the water up to his waist within 5 mins of hitting the beach.

Realised I hadn't done any FLYing either so I was up at 6.30 this morning and did (in order) the following

Clean out the cat cellar
Reline floor and lay sawdust
Take soiled litter to bin
Clear out dishwasher from Friday night
Load with stuff from Last night
Sort bottles for recycling
Empty WM and sort for drying
Peg out 4 loads of washing
Ssweep kitchen
Mop front room
Clear bathroom floor
Clean toilet
Mop bathroom
Mop bottom of stairs
Mop kitchen
Stay outside (mopped out of the house) and check plants
Put kitchen back together
DH up, strip bed off
Load whites to WM and run
Remake bed
Clean Ed's bedroom window inside and out (had been bombed by what I think may have been a herring gull who had eaten a leftover curry at the landfill site )
Make breakfast
Set ironing board up outside
Fill bird feeder
Do ironing
Check line for dry clothes to iron
Take in board and iron
Put throw back over armchair
Rebuild front room
Take ironed clothes up
Order book for Ed's B'day

I've gone to bed now. I fell over trying to help EDd with his drumkit outside. I'm sure I have added to my leg bruise collection and have grazed my wrist.

DH has put tea on so all I have to do now is vac the front room rug, vac staircase, landing and bedroom, Get Ed's clothes ready for morning and do the lunchboxes

TheMadHouse · 13/07/2008 14:11

GO Yet again your list puts me to shame, glad ed enjoyed the sea and TAKE IT EASY

Loopy The clot didnt form, so I had to have packing material inserted - 3 times. It was a nasty extraction and he had to cut the gum to get the tooth out at the side and inner. I went back this week to have some bone which was still protruding filled off

I have been and had a nap and am feeling more human. DH fed the boys and DS2 is napping, we are off out to the duck derby in a mo

TheMadHouse · 13/07/2008 17:32

I hope you lwot are all enjoying the weather. I am just finnishing sunday dinner - yes with yorkshire puds.

We have had a really nice afternoon at the duck derby. It was far too cold for the boys to go in the sea though, however, they both got really muddy as the fields were still wet from all the rain, so have had a bath, then dinner and then will be Gladiators and bed - yippee

I NEED to do all the ironing

rowingboat · 13/07/2008 18:21

Hi everyone,
I'm still on babystep day off - still getting used to the ones I have already.

How are the other baby steppers getting on?????

I'm doing the swish and swipe in the bathroom and wipe the kitchen every day spending between 5 and ten minutes on each
Doing my three hotspots morning and evening for two minutes - all are have been nice and clear most of the time because of this.
Couldn't do my 15 minute declutter yesterday because I was doing sewing instead, but will do one today.
Went for a three hour walk with the small one so we are nice and fit, and it was quite sunny so have to make the most. I think it's called 'loving movement'.
I think I have frozen on step 12, but hope to do step 13 on Tuesday, just trying to get used to the routine at the moment.

dylsmum1998 · 13/07/2008 18:57

evening all. had a brill day here weather wise so we went to the beach. had a brill time with the 2 dc. they loved it.
dd slept all the way home when she woke she asked for the beach with the sand and an ice-cream with a chocloate and tissues.
bless think she had a good time we've not been to the beach for a while its so far from where we live. will make more effort tho as they love it and its a cheap day out
ds said one of the things he misses most about moving from where we used to live was that we could be at the beach in 15mins by train

TheMadHouse · 13/07/2008 20:12

Evening all

I love the beach and do my two. I agree it can be a really cheap day out. We got an ice cream £1 each and also a bag of chips £1.20 and it was lovley. I am looking forward to the boys being bigger so I can sit and watch them with my book and ipod - he he he

I really can not do the ironing, so it will have to wait till tomorrow lunch time.

Anyway. I am off to look at camping porn and find a site on the Northumberland coast for the August bank holiday - first trip with the children

lucysmam · 13/07/2008 20:26

could someone explain what flying is please? I'm new to this and very curious as it's the only thread (or threads) I don't understand (have been investigating old ones about budgeting and stuff like that and thought i'd look at some others)

EustaciaVye · 13/07/2008 20:44

lucysmam - look here

dylsmum1998 · 13/07/2008 20:49

TMH of your ice cream costing £1.
ours cost 6.00 for 3!

tortoise · 13/07/2008 21:15

Evening all.
The party i went to last night was ok. I did get bored and was wishing i had someone with me but after 2 malibu and cokes i gave myself a kick up the bum and got on the dance floor! Only with the DC though and i didn't move much lol!
I was planning on leaving at 10pm but then the food appeared next thing i knew it was 11pm. Meant we had to walk home in the dark but it wasn't too bad.

Hoped DC would sleep in but no such luck. DS2 was awake at 7. DD2 did sleep until 9.30 but had wet the bed. She had orange juice while we were out. Spent £14 on drinks.

Went to out towns cavalcade of motering today. Wasn't much there but spent £6.50 on ice creams!

The rest of the day has been spent cleaning and tidying kitchen and dining bit. DW repair man coming tomorrow.

My Dad should be here on Saturday so i have all week to tidy inside and out. Grass is very long again!

Hope everyone is ok.

tortoise · 13/07/2008 21:16

Meant to add mine don't watch much tv now we don't have Sky TV. I often have it on in the background. More often put the radio or CD on now.

biglips · 13/07/2008 21:36

heeeellloooo all!!!

All weve done is going back and forth to the tip which now all finished!! HOORAY!!!
also scrubbed the back yard too as it was so dirty!

All done -
1)unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher
2)Did tea
3)hoovered the living room and hall way
4)mopped the kitchen floor and tidied up kitchen......ive just done the "go shine your sink" moment
5)laundry away
6)one load of washing washed and hung out, now a 2nd load of washing still in the washing machine
7) swish and swipe

now im off to bed

Didnt go out anywhere this weekend as we wanted to relaxed instead.

Jas · 13/07/2008 21:44

I refused to go out today (dd1 nagged all day to be entertained) as I hink they should find things to do by themselves sometimes. They played out with various children through the day. I came down from bathing ds this eve to find 10 kids in my back garden!

I've pottered and managed to get lots of jobs in the kitchen done, and dd2s room tidy. I think we are on the bathroom nex week so I'll try and give that a proper going over tomorrow.

I've just dyed my hair (red again) and hung out a load of washing to dry overnight. I'll put the next load on the timer to finish before dp gets up in the morning.

rowingboat - you sound like you are doing really well with the babysteps. It is best to go slowly and set those routines IME
