grouting - bleach and a scrubbing brush or one of those scary bathroom products that recommend you wear a mask.
felttip - white spirit or nailpolish remover
banana - write off banana is the devils work.

and stop buying tomato

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/07/2008 14:37

toothbrush and bleach for tiles as Sherezade has said - am terrified of any product with scary hazard labels on !

FabioTheWhisperingCat · 06/07/2008 14:39

grouting - spray on Mould & Mildew remover, wipe off. Bleach and old toothbrush if hardcore

carpet & feltip - try a Pampers babywipe

You need to see someone about the tomato purchasing addiction. And start liking stews and pasta.

Up the hours of the firefighter/cleaner hybrid. Or stop setting fire to stuff.

I find Dettox Mould and Mildew Remover excellent for showers/baths/grouting. It is scary stuff (wear rubber gloves) but IME much better than plain bleach.

Try making a paste of biological washing powder and rubbing it into the banana stain. Felt tip is virtually impossible to remove but you could try the paste.

Give away 25 tins of the tomatoes (church? homeless shelter? elderly care housing?) and use the rest for spag bol.

And can you afford your cleaner for an hour or two more a week?

A huge batch of tomato soup and freeze some.

onions, herbs, pesto, tins tomatoes, splash olive oil, tin of chick peas. Very nice, hearty soup.

Another vote for mould and mildew dettox stuff - really effective. We use it regularly and always have pristine white grout. I would probably get someone in to attack the carpet, tbh.
