Morning everyone

I see cod woke up full of the joys this morning.
You should maybe try FLYing cod...might give you something constructive to do!

I'm hoping the weather stays nice today, we have a summer fete to go to this afternoon.

Bianca hope you have a good time at the festival

EHM Helloooo

Right off to do a bit

Jas · 05/07/2008 09:58

Afternoon ladies

TMH That was a beautiful poem, my thoughts are with you all

Jas No thankfully no fines but my lot love the books so much they hate giving them all up.

Grouchy LOL at Ed bless him, we actually had the story last night and ds picked Aliens Love Underpants at the library yesterday as well but haven't read it yet. They also love the David Melling books, Good Knight Sleep Tight being a firm favourite.

waves to everyone else

Well not much flying this weekend, cat has just broken my laundry basket by sitting on it!!! so will need to go buy a new one

However I have done
Made beds
All kids dressed
Critters fed and watered
Slight bit of decluttering in bedroom

Promised kids I'd make chocolate cakes this arvo with them as weather is not good so planned excursion to the Beacons has been put on hold

EustaciaVye · 05/07/2008 14:14

Hi everyone,

Nice day here. Went to town with DH and DDs this morning and had a cooked breakfast in a caff. DH has now taken DD1 out for a boat ride on the local canal while I am meant to be entertaining a semi-grumpy DD2.

Have managed a bit of decluttering today, but have generated some piles elsewhere. Ordered a storage box for photos this wweek which holds over 2000 photos. So plan to empty out all albums and catalogue all snaps at some point.

dylsmum1998 · 05/07/2008 15:12

afternoon all we had a wander over to the library ds got loads of books so should be able to do his project now.
how can i help him? he is very stubborn so if i suggest something he'll make a point of not doing it.
he has to do a factfile on an animal. he has chosen dolphins. i have suggested he works out which sections he wants to include ie
food
where they live
how they live

he is going through the books writing down all the facts in a long list all jumbled up. any ideas for helping a 9 yr old that knows more than anybody else in the world would be great

dd has just tried for the longest tantrum award. i carried her to the library and most of the way home i put her down to walk about 5 min (my walk) from home and said my arms ache you need to walk now and she screamed so i thought welll i'm not backing down now or she gonna get worse so she shrieked the whole way home. it changed from a full on anger scream at the start to a realy silly ( and dare i admit amusing) shreek. but she did walk til we got in. so she can do it she was just protesting. she has calmed now and is having a drink and a snack

TheMadHouse · 05/07/2008 17:25

Jas Too wet for wellies and DS1 has out grown his waterproof trousers, so I need to find some on ebay - cheap

We have been and spent DS2s last bit of birthday money - he got a new wiggles DVD and some books. Boarders have When we were very young and now we are six in at 3.99 - it is great for bedtimes as it is poems, so tends to be in chunks. Also it reminds me of my childhood so is cool.

DS1 bought meat the robbinsons with the last bit of his holiday money reduced in Zavvi to £6 whioch isnt bad for a disney DVD - infact they had a few reduced to £9 like cars and ratatoui (sp)

So they are relaxing after tea and the plan for tomorrow is to watch some DVDs and pray for less rain - at least the veg are loving it.

Bianca Our spuds are nearly reaady too - we thinned out the carotts and enjoyed them loads

rowingboat · 05/07/2008 17:51

Hi all, it's day 5 I think. Today I am supposed to choose my clothes - but I don't like any of them, so it's quite a thankless task.
Have been at work all day which meant I had to get dressed (or get fired), but did the post hotspot this morning and now am off to read 2 mins of reminders.
Jas Thank you for the hotspot advice! There are weekly zones? So I'm guessing you do a zone and note any hotspots, is that correct?
Did anyone do ALL of the baby steps like lazy old me?

rowingboat · 05/07/2008 17:54

Does anyone have Ebay selling to do on their weekly list: I just noticed they are having a 5p listing day on Tuesday?
(I hope I will have found the cable which connects the camera to the computer by then.)

grouchyoscar · 05/07/2008 18:16

Hello Everybody I'll get used to all the names soon honest

Ed is much better and is now recovered enough to be full of it. He has spent most of today with his dad in the office.

I had a bit of a rest after an aborted attempt to go see the bank manager (It was persisting it down) but I felt guilty/lazy by 2 so I

Got up and went to the cellar
Swept the corridor
Swept the cat cellar
Bagged up the soiled cat litter
relaid new paper and saw dust
Take soiled litter to the grey bin
vac front room
Vac kitchen
Vac staircase
Dust and clean hearth
Mop kitchen
Mop front room
Clean out sink
Load DW and run
Empty WM
Hang to dry
Tidy Ed's room
Take his market stall out of storage and set up in front room
Have a bath with Ed
Conk out

Suppose I better get my act togther. Take care all of you

dylsmum1998 · 05/07/2008 18:29

we're all fed and showered here now. the dishes are done i can relax for the evening once dc are in bed.
i sent ds to his room for being rude and dd is running from the fridge to his room taking him food. its quite sweet so far she has taken him a big pot of natural yoghurt. several handfuls of green beens and a punnet of toms
i know i should stop her but its so sweet

TheMadHouse · 05/07/2008 19:45

Dyls I need to get back to doing a weekly ebay - TBH I hate the chew on edpecially the PO with two toddlers, but are in desp need of the money. I find I get more if I dont do on a cheap listing day though. So I think I am going to add it to my list.

Dinner is in for me and DH and we are going to have a relaxing night.

Oh I have a thought we have loads of DVDs we have watched - dont get to the pictures, how about a DVD swop - Anyone up for it?

Jas · 05/07/2008 19:58

TMH - Only if anyone want the first series of Desperate Housewives from me!
Never watched it and probably never will. We are buying megacheap videos from charity shops atm, so no other dvds.

rowingboat - I posted on this thread for about a year before I did the babysteps properly, and doing it really helped.

If you check the link on the daily threads it will tell you what zone we are in, but if you just stick to the babysteps all will be revealed

Our rain turned into glorious sunshine, and we enjoyed the local fete, got all the dds homework done, and had fish and chips for tea, then watched Dr Who.

A fun day all round

Legoland tomorrow, hopefully.

  5. Did tea
  6. then a lllllllllllllooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggg soak in the bath!!

now my legs are gonna fall off!

TheMadHouse · 05/07/2008 20:50

jas Swop, give whatever - they are only clutter

Jas · 05/07/2008 20:55

Still waiting for dp to come home so I can go shopping,or we will end up havig to buy food at Legoland tomorrow, and I'd rather spend the same amount and picnic tomorrow, plus eat for the rest of the week.

Anyone want my dvds then?

OP posts:
tortoise · 05/07/2008 21:03

Evening all.
We have had a fun day at the air show. Weather was ok for the morn but went downhill after lunch. Can't believe how cold it was! Wet and very windy too. Kids seemed to enjoy it.

Hope everyone is ok. I am going to bed soon. DS2 was up with cold and cough during the night.

rowingboat · 05/07/2008 22:06

Hi again,
Oops! Didn't pick out my clothes and now DP has gone to bed, so I can't do it with the light on. Which might mean I end up wearing a pair of DP's trousers and a string vest tomorrow. I think I will pick out clothes tomorrow night instead.
Thanks for the info jas I will just continue with the babysteps, it is a good way of not getting overwhelmed with the whole thing I reckon.
I would be up for a DVD swap, although we don't really have any bought ones, just rent them. But I would be happy to watch them and then either post them back or post them onto somebody else for them to watch.
Do you have a list?
I hear you about the buying food thing - it costs enough to get into these places without lining their pockets further. Picnics are fun anyway.
Madhouse - I don't mind the posting, it's the listing that I hate, and trying to get the photos organised. 'Uum, what can I say about this skirt?' repeat 50 times with different articles of clothing. Makes your head hurt!
Have thought of two hotspots - next to front door where the shoes, bags are dumped and on side in kitchen where the post gets dumped. Have been quite tidy and sorted them out!

babyjjbaby · 05/07/2008 22:16
